"You have forsaken the love you had at first..."Revelation 2:4

Tis the season my friends. And I'm not talking about Christmas trees, peppermint hot chocolate, and caroling. I'm talking about the underlying season that creeps up on your social media feeds, its the beginning of ring season. (Insert the dun dun duhhhh noise here). I go on my Instagram explore page and there is literally rings everywhere. And let's be honest, like really down to the bone honest it will always sting a little bit until its you. Until you have been promised to be loved till the day you die and someone has made that proclamation for the whole world to see. Until you feel worthy enough, or loved enough there will be a sting at each ring post.

But here's the thing, I've already made a bigger promise. I've sealed my fate and said "I do" to my first love. It was a much bigger statement then bling on my finger. It is a much greater joy to be celebrating daily. Saying I do to Christ is the first, and foremost important choice in life. Because that I do sets in motion everything that will come after it: lifestyles, careers, relationships, marriage, kids, families, literally everything. So, rather than giving in to the green eyed monster this "I do" season, I am remembering to bask in the joy that is my first love, my initial I do to Jesus.

Do you, [insert name], accept Christ as your Lord and Savior for all your days? Do you promise to love him, find comfort in His promises, honor Him in all you do, praise Him whatever circumstances may come, in your seasons of joy and sorrow, forsaking your own life for New Life, and trust Him faithfully for as long as you live?

I looked to Him and saw all I needed. My future was carved out and even though I couldn't see the details I trusted He had made it just for me. My heart was transformed because I knew I stood in the presence of love. He asked me to drop it all, let it go, forget this world and look to things above. He asked me to surrender and give Him my life and I said,

"I Do"

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help.
