10 Signs You're A "Yes" Girl

Are you the type of person to always say "yes?"

10 Signs You're A "Yes" Girl

If you’re a yes girl (or boy), you know exactly what I'm talking about. We’re the kind of people who, just by happenstance, have our entire days booked for a least two weeks without even realizing it. The term “over-doing it” simply doesn’t apply to us. If an opportunity comes along, we are the first to jump on board with a sense of pride and excitement. This can be a second or third job, the head position at your internship, a weekend away with your friends, or even an upcoming concert in the middle of the week. If there is a chunk of free time in your life, then you can fit it in. No problem.

This mentality can be great for so many reasons, but can also act to hinder your life in a few ways. If you are a yes person, you’ll be sure to identify with the following characteristics of your life.

1. You’re literally always busy. And when you're not, you occupy your time by getting things done ahead of time to allow for yet another event in the near future.

2. You live the best of both worlds. While you can’t say no to an additional work shift and end up working your ass off during the waking hours of every day, you also have a social obligation that you just can’t push aside. You are the epitome of work hard, play hard.

3. You’re well-rounded. If a cool opportunity comes your way, you’ll take it. This means that you often subject yourself to some weird, random things, but hey- all the power to ya. These experiences can only benefit you.

4. You meet awesome people. Being a busy and involved person allows for ample opportunity to meet people of all different kinds. This is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself in life.

5. You have great work ethic and time management. If you didn’t, you’d probably be in the fetal position in a therapist’s office right now. Not saying that hasn’t happened to you before... I may or may not be guilty of this overwhelmed symptom at one point in my life.

6. You have a kick ass resume. Life skills, man.

7. You know how to react in just about every given situation, because you have been in just about every situation.

8. You’re never bored. You don’t even know what that is, to be honest.

9. You’re probably perma-wired. You have nailed down the Dutch Bros persona in every aspect of your life because the positive, peppy, energetic personality is the only way to trick your body into thinking you actually do have enough energy to do everything

10. You are proud of everything you can manage. It almost becomes a game of how much you can take on and still succeed.

If you're a "yes person," you'll definitely find yourself identifying with the majority of these things. While these are all great and you definitely should be proud of everything you can handle, it is also important to take a step back and allow yourself to slow down. College is an acceptable and almost expected time to fill your plate until it’s overflowing, but this is not a life long habit that should last forever. Teach yourself to slow down at times because your body won't be this young and able forever.

Creating your schedule for the upcoming semester can be an exciting process. You have the control to decide if you want to have class two-days a week or five-days a week. You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:
