So, You Had A Summer Fling, But It's Time To Part Ways

Saying goodbye to the person who showed me an entirely new outlook on life.

When I write an article, I always try to connect what I'm writing about to my personal life.

If you know anything about me, you know I'm not one to be the hopeless romantic. I've always kept my walls built up strong and tall because heartbreak just didn't seem to be much of a good time.

This summer has had its ups and downs, but one person set me on a steady course that I thought I would never see. He showed me what it felt like to live a little, laugh a little, and love a little. It's honestly been the best time of my life.

In less than two weeks, we will part ways and leave for different colleges. Maybe we'll be able to figure things out, but only time will tell. Regardless, he will always hold a huge place in my heart.

Saying goodbye to someone who played a tremendous role in your life is never easy.

Life never is easy. There will always be a hard part that follows all the good memories.

People have asked me many times if he's worth what will be the hardest goodbye I've had so far. It's simple for me. Yes. He is worth every second of our soon to be goodbye.

How am I going to handle it?

While his school may be somewhere else, the most important thing to remember is that our home bases are the same. It's not "goodbye," it's "see you later."

I think a lot of people forget about that factor when the upcoming school year approaches. While growing away for a bit when the school year commences is the smarter choice, who's to say what will happen in the future? If fate wants you to be together, then it'll happen.

Keeping a positive spirit as the fling comes to an end is really the only thing you can do to control the situation. But, that isn't necessarily the easiest thing to do. I've teared up plenty of times myself while trying to keep a good vibe. It's okay to get emotional over the situation a few times, but always remember that in the end, fate does have a plan and we just need to trust it.

I may not be looking forward to the hard part that's following, but I don't regret one single thing when it came to having my summer fling.

Thanks to him, I've had one of the best summers yet. We've made memories to last a lifetime. Summer flings may have many challenges, but at the end of the day, they're always worth it.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!
