Who could've predicted last weekend's slate of games? Well actually one guy in Vegas hit a 360-1 parlay on Pittsburgh, Iowa, and USC, but hey, it's whatever. I picked USC, and thought Iowa was going to play Michigan close, but I doubted Pittsburgh's ability to keep it competitive against Clemson in Death Valley. With the new CFP rankings out it's looking like the Big-12 and PAC-12 will be left out, while the ACC or BIG-10 will sneak two teams in. The quality of games this weekend aren't very good, but hang in there because next weekend is going to be a thrill ride.
Last Week: 3-2 Overall: 23-11
5. Indiana vs. #3 Michigan
Michigan and their fans were feeling mighty down after Saturday night, and with the news of Speight most likely out for the season hitting national headlines they have to be biting their nails. Fortunately, for the Wolverines they control their own destiny, so if they win out they are in. With all that being said I'm picking the Hoosiers to ride into Ann Arbor and punch the Wolverines right in the mouth while they are down. Punch isn't the right word because Indiana is not a physical team, but I expect their aerial assault to put points on the board, while Michigan's offense struggles behind their new quarterback.
Final Prediction: Indiana 28, Michigan 21
4. #2 Ohio State vs. Michigan State
This game tends to be the Buckeye's kryptonite every year, but I can't see Dantonio shocking Ohio State this year. Michigan State is one of the worst teams in the BIG-10, with a non-existent offense. Ohio State on the other hand has looked like a brand new team after their loss to Penn State, with blowout wins against everyone they have played. J.T. Barrett is clicking and I like the Buckeyes to score at will, while the over/under on Michigan State first downs might be 3. Michigan State will come out fired up because it's a rivalry game, but look for it to get out of hand quickly.
Final Prediction: Ohio State 56, Michigan State 13
3. #22 Washington State vs #10 Colorado
To be honest who cares about this game? Two years ago, if I would've told you that Washington State and Colorado would be playing in a top-25 game would you have believed me? Mike Leach has the Cougars playing good football, after their start that had him questioning his players manliness. Colorado on the other hand looks solid, behind their dual-threat quarterback Sefo Liufau. Both of these teams have outstanding quarterback play, with the big difference coming with the skill out wide. Washington State has better skill players and most importantly the coaching edge, so look for the Cougars to still a win in Boulder.
Final Prediction: Washington State 42, Colorado 41
2. #23 Florida vs. #16 LSU
LSU proved me wrong last week, so I'm going to learn from my mistakes and pick the Tigers to handle the Gators on Saturday. Fortunately for LSU the SEC allowed them to make this game up so they can manhandle another team not called Alabama. Unfortunately for Florida the SEC allowed them to make this game up, because the Gators are going to lose costing them the SEC East championship. Florida is terrible on offense...Terrible. LSU's defense is probably the second best defense in the country behind guess who, and I expect them to suffocate Florida, while Guice and Fournette run for a combined 300 yards leading LSU to an impressive win.
Final Prediction: Florida 6, LSU 24
1. #9 Oklahoma vs. #14 West Virginia
Big match up in the Big 12 this weekend, as this game will most likely determine the conference champion, and maybe a birth into the college football playoff. Oklahoma has looked solid on offense, and now that they have Mixon and Perine back to counter Mayfield and Westbrook in the passing game, the nation needs to be put on notice. West Virginia is coming off a solid win in Austin, as they were able to hold off the Longhorns in the final minutes. Oklahoma and West Virginia are top 15 teams with good offenses, but West Virginia's defense is much better than Oklahoma's. Couple that with Morgantown being one of the craziest environments in the country I like the Mountaineers to win this game and make a serious push for the college football playoff. Tons of couches being burned in the streets Saturday night...Go Mountaineers!
Final Prediction: Oklahoma 31, West Virginia 35
