We got an exciting week of football last week as both of my prime-time SEC picks didn't quite pan out. I have Auburn and LSU to thank for that, as both of these programs have seemed to turn around their seasons, which is unfortunate for Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. The way Auburn ran the ball against the Razorbacks was just plain scary. You know what was even scarier? The way Leonard Fournette ran over that Ole Miss defensive back. I hope he plans to attend the funeral. Anyways let's get to my predictions for the top games this weekend!
Last Week: 3-2 Overall Record: 12-7
5. #10 West Virginia vs. Oklahoma State
West Virginia is coming off an impressive showing against TCU, and now find themselves ranked inside the top 10. Oklahoma State beat an up and coming Kansas Jayhawk's team and now begin to prepare for their important Big 12 match-up. Mason Rudolph and the Cowboy's offense is clicking and if their defense can get a few stops I like them to upset the Mountaineers in this game. West Virginia is riding high and Stillwater is not the easiest place to win. I think the Cowboy's are equally talented if not more talented than the Mountaineers and I expect Oklahoma State to come away with the upset.
Final Prediction: West Virginia 31, Oklahoma State 35
4. #15 Auburn vs. Ole Miss
Man did Auburn look good Saturday. As you guys know I picked the Razorbacks to beat the Tigers and I was woefully wrong. It was scary how good Auburn's offense looked in that game, and how much better they looked in general. Not only was the offense clicking, but Auburn's defensive line is ridiculous. Austin Allen never had a clean pocket to throw out of, and I expect the same for Chad Kelly this Saturday. Look for Auburn to establish their run game and manage the line of scrimmage as they beat the Rebel's in a tough SEC road game.
Final Prediction: Auburn 42, Ole Miss 24
3. #4 Washington vs. #17 Utah
Washington's first true road test of the season comes this weekend, I'm interested to see how they manage the rowdy Utah atmosphere. Jake Browning is having an excellent season throwing the ball with accuracy, and I favor him to do the same this weekend against a solid Utah defense. Washington is going to run the table in the PAC-12 and most likely get into the playoff, unfortunately. Look for the Huskies to play sound defense and for Browning to pick apart the Utes' secondary and for the Huskies to stay undefeated on their way to the college football playoff.
Final Prediction: Washington 27, Utah 14
2. #7 Nebraska vs. #11 Wisconsin
My favorite defensive player in the country, Jack Cichy, is out for the entire year with a knee injury, and man does that hurt the badgers. Fortunately, the Badgers still have the little Watt brother, and this defense is still more than capable of shutting down opposing offenses. Nebraska is coming off a shaky win against the formidable Boilermakers, I'm kidding, and that result sits uneasy with me. With all do respect to the Cornhuskers they haven't really played anyone the caliber of which Wisconsin has. I like the Badgers to win this game comfortably, and continue their uphill battle of getting into the playoff as a two-loss team.
Final Prediction: Wisconsin 21, Nebraska 7
1. #3 Clemson vs #12 Florida State
The Clemson Tigers and the Florida State Seminoles battle in Tallahassee this Saturday night in an ACC Atlantic clash. The Seminoles are playing good football as of late, with the offense starting to click under true freshman Francois. However Clemson is the much better team in this match-up and their rankings show that. Even though the Tigers are undefeated and ranked third nationally, I think we can all agree they have been a little sluggish this year. With their leading rusher back in Wayne Gallman, I expect the Tigers to get rid of their Tallahassee woes and knock off the Seminoles this Saturday night.
Final Prediction: Clemson 38, Florida State 24
