Saturday's Are Better Than Sunday's: Week Five
thecardinalconnect.com

We've made it to week five of a college football season that has brought us a Heisman front-runner that no one saw coming, three preseason top-10 teams with two losses before the end of September, and Les Miles being fired after the Tiger's second loss in an early season. In my opinion, he should've been gone after the three-game losing streak last year, but what do I know? My name is Cameron Millholland, and thank you for checking in to read the first edition of "Saturday's are Better than Sunday's". Week five's slate of games matches six top-10 teams against each other, quite possibly making this upcoming weekend better than "The Greatest Opening Weekend of College Football." Check out the top five "must watch" games this weekend, and I'll throw in my predictions for what it's worth.

5. Oklahoma vs. #21 TCU (Oklahoma -3.5)

Every time Bob Stoops and his Oklahoma Sooners find themselves ranked highly in the preseason polls they always fail to fulfill expectations, and this year is no different. In their defense, both of their losses came to serious playoff contenders, Houston and Ohio State. Regardless of their 1-2 record, I'm picking the Sooners to ride into Fort Worth and steal a win from the Horned Frogs. Baker Mayfield and his stable of running backs are too good not to take advantage of this below-average TCU defense that has allowed over 120 yards rushing in three of their first four games and was shredded by the offenses of Arkansas and South Dakota State. Also, the shaky first half last week against a very poor SMU squad, which saw the Horned Frogs take a 6-3 lead into the halftime, is another reason to be concerned with TCU. Yes, TCU ended up running away with it in the second half, but the Horned Frogs can't afford to start slow against an explosive Oklahoma Offense.

Final Prediction: Oklahoma 41, TCU 30

4. #11 Tennessee vs. #25 Georgia (Tennessee -3.5)

The Volunteers and Bulldogs meet in a top 25 clash that has huge implications in the SEC East. Volunteers win, and they solidify themselves as the number one contender to make it to Atlanta. Bulldogs win, and they keep their season alive, controlling their own destiny making that game at the end of October in Jacksonville, Florida, that much bigger. Tennessee is coming off a huge win over the Florida Gators which ended an 11-year-drought which saw the Volunteers winless against the Gators. Tennessee is riding high and I see this as the perfect formula for a Bulldog upset. Georgia has its back up against the wall, with a loss ultimately ending their season and I expect them to come out fired up in Athens against a Volunteer team that could be looking into the future with two games in the next two weeks against top 10 opponents, Texas A&M and Alabama. Also, with the injury to Cam Sutton, I'm intrigued to see if the Bulldog's can attack the Vol's vertically in the passing game where the Gators could not. In the end home field advantage, and the Volunteer's riding high will lead to a Bulldog victory, allowing them to get back into the East race.

Final Prediction: UGA 24, Tennessee 17

3. #8 Wisconsin vs. #4 Michigan (Michigan -10.5)

Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines get their first real test of the season when the Wisconsin Badgers travel to the Big House this Saturday in a matchup of top 10 teams. Last Saturday, Wisconsin and Michigan had impressive showings against fellow Big 10 teams. The Badgers traveled to East Lansing as a seven-point underdog and left with a 20+ point victory over a tough Michigan State team. On the other hand, Michigan welcomed the Nittany Lions into Ann Arbor where they throttled a solid Penn State squad 49-10. With both teams riding momentum into this game, I'm interested to see who can win the battle in the trenches. Whoever can establish their run game and throw the ball with some consistency will win the game. With both defenses ranking in the top 20 nationally in run defense, I'm going to side with the Badgers in this one to slow down Michigan's offense and score more points than the Wolverines. The Badgers defense was able to shut down Leonard Fournette and Michigan State's powerful run game, so I would expect them to be able to stop De'veon Smith and the Michigan offense. Also, Corey Clement is back and 100%, so the Badgers should have no problem moving the ball against a defense that Colorado was able to exploit. Lastly, I've picked against Wisconsin and lost twice this season so that trend ends this Saturday.

Final Prediction: Wisconsin 21, Michigan 13

2. #7 Stanford vs. #10 Washington (Washington -3)

Who would've thought three years ago that we would be discussing Washington, in a match-up of top 10 teams? Chris Peterson has resurrected the Huskies' program the same way he did at Boise State, with outstanding quarterback play and hard-nosed defense. On the other side, you have Christian McCaffrey and the Stanford Cardinals who travel to Washington after last week's last-minute touchdown against UCLA that kept the Cardinals record clean. McCaffrey is off to a relatively slow start this year, and I'm interested to see if he can get back to his old ways against a Washington defense that gave up over 300 yards rushing last week against the Arizona Wildcats. First-year starter, Ryan Burns, continues to grow under David Shaw and I expect that to continue this week against an untested Huskies team. Combine that with a huge game from McCaffrey and a stud front seven from Stanford and I see the Cardinals winning this Pac-12 showdown.

Final Prediction: Stanford 24, Washington 13

1. #3 Louisville vs. #5 Clemson (Louisville -2)

Lamar vs. Deshaun. What more is there to say? If you aren't buying into the hype check out this video.

Game of the year so far in this early college football season and boy am I ready to watch this match-up between the two best players in the nation. Louisville brings the number one total offense in America to Death Valley where they will meet the number three total defense. Lamar Jackson's six-game streak of 100 rushing yards or more was halted Saturday against Marshall, which gives hope to Venables' stingy defense that only allowed 95 yards rushing to Georgia Tech, a team that has led the nation in rushing over the past few years. Lamar Jackson will still put up impressive numbers Saturday, but Venables and his young defense will find a way to make Jackson use his arm, which at times this season has been inaccurate. On the other side, Clemson's offense is starting to run like the well-oiled machine that we saw put up over 40 points on Alabama in the national championship game last year, and for everyone in college football that is bad news. With quite possibly the best receiver in the nation back from injury, Mike Williams, and Gallman lined up in the backfield with Watson, this Louisville defense is in for a long night. If Clemson can limit the big plays of Lamar Jackson and find a good rhythm on offense I believe they take down Petrino and the Cardinals in a hostile Death Valley environment Saturday night.

Final prediction: Louisville 31, Clemson 35

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

Every kid in college and/or high school dreams of summer the moment they walk through the door on the first day back in September. It becomes harder and harder to focus in classes and while doing assignments as the days get closer. The winter has been lagging, the days are short and dark, and no one is quite themselves due to lack of energy and sunlight. Let's face it: life is ten times better in the summertime.
