Sandy Beach or Streaming Netflix: Everything You Will Need to Survive Spring Break

Just think, two weeks from now you’ll either be sitting on a warm, sandy beach holding a Margarita in one hand and tanning oil in the other, or laying on your couch at home and in the comfiest pajamas in the world watching countless hours of the new House of Cards season. Whichever spring break situation is in your cards, you are going to want to look healthy and refreshed for when you return to school. Classes are hard enough, you get one full week to rejuvenate your skin, get that tan you’ve always wanted, pick out a couple new items for your closet, or try that great new fitness trend everyone has been talking about. It doesn’t matter if you’re off jet-setting to an island or beach or if you’re being lazy at home, you still want to make the best of what little relaxing time you have at home or with your friends. Here is a collection of events and items I found to keep you entertained and enthralled for your spring break me-time!

1. St. Tropez Self Tan Dark Bronzing Mousse.

I have to vouch for this beautiful product. This is the only self-tanning spray/mousse I will ever use. St. Tropez is a fad item for all sorority girls and leaves your skin looking streak-free. It is dark enough, but not fake looking. I highly recommend throwing this in your beach bag or buying for over break when you’re sitting at home getting whiter by the second.

2. Flash Tattoos and Body Painting.

Flash tattoos have becoming quite the up and coming fad for all ages. They are great for the beach because they’ll stay on and replace jewelry that can get corroded from all the ocean salt. They are also fun to take to a concert in the city or even a weekend on the town with your hometown friends. Body painting is also great because it can be fun for beach-goers or for a concert.

3. Paint/Decorate Spring Break Water Bottles or Jugs.

Saw this on Pinterest and nearly died. For all you sorority gals who live for crafting, grab a water jug or bottle from Walmart and go crazy with puffy paints and glitter. They are a fun way to keep track which one is your drink and to use on the bus ride down to wherever you’re going. Also, paint your man a Frat Jug and he’ll love you forever.

4. A flag representing your sorority or favorite fraternity.

Go to your favorite sorority store and purchase a lettered flag to show off on your hotel balcony or just representing in your room at home. They are a great way to show off your srat lifestyle.

5. A bright sassy tank top.

You can either go for the cute, sassy tank top or the rowdy, fratty tank top. Personally I think both are great for lounging at home in your sweats, or to pair with your cutest bikini while pounding beers on the beach with your bros. I love Rowdy Gentleman and Island Company’s tanks.

6. Tight tummy and best butt work out exercises.

Go on Gym RA for the 7 day butt challenge or Get Healthy U for their pre-spring break workout. You have two weeks to hit the gym before, and if you’re staying home, three weeks to get the best bod for spring weather and all those upcoming formals.

7. Make Beach House Cosmos.

4 cups prepare limeade, 2 cups plain vodka, 1 cup cranberry juice, ½ cup triple sec, 12 lime slices and you just made your own spring break in a cup.

8. DIY colorful gladiator sandals.

Go to this great website I found that shows you how to make cute homemade sandals for the beach. Nice thing about making these is that it takes just over 30 minutes to make and you won’t be too sad if you lose them on your trip

9. DIY beach cover ups.

This wrap dress is pretty cute; made with just a scarf and there are so many more if you just look around the internet. There are some especially good cover-ups made from cute beach towels as well!

10. Incoco Nail Polish Strips.

My sorority sisters always recommended these patterned nail polish strips to me and I never understood how great they were until I used them. They are easy to put on and make your nails stand out amongst all the rest. You can have lace patterned ones, sparkly snake skin, cutesy polka dots, or just solid colors. They last forever and are made of real nail polish so they come off easily as well. They are awesome to do at home while watching Netflix or before going out to the bars.

11. Soma Intimates ultra-soft robe and slippers for lounging.

These slippers and robe duo is absolutely amazing. I have never felt anything so soft and cushy in my entire life. The entire store is just one giant cloud. I highly recommend these for any and all professional nappers out there; which definitely includes me.

12. Homemade healthy skin mixes like Honey, Olive Oil, and Brown Sugar.

There are so many great, healthy skin care mixes that you can make up. There are masks, rubs, and lotions that come from food items sitting in your pantry or fridge. I looked at a lot of them and liked the Honey, Olive Oil, and Brown Sugar mix the best. Use 1/2 cup honey, 1/2 cup olive oil, 1 cup brown sugar, 2 tsp. water. Combine the ingredients together into a paste like substance. Then apply to skin and be careful when applying to face as to not get into eyes; all natural, but may still be uncomfortable. The brown sugar exfoliates and helps to remove dry and dead skin cells. The honey moisturizes the skin and the brown sugar gives it that youthful glow.

13. Cook up some pretzel pizza rolls and chopped salad in a cup.

Pinterest knows all. I went on the other day and nearly had myself a heart attack when I saw this food porn. Whether you’re staying in for a movie night or running off to the gym, these are two of the best food ideas I have heard about in a long time. To make them yourself, first make your dough. Divide it in half so it's easier to work with. Roll one lump into a big, fat rope and then flatten it. Sprinkle on your pepperoni and cheese. After, pinch completely shut on the top, and then dunk in a cup of baking soda and water for a minute or two. Take it out and slice it up into little chunks. Add some coarse salt on top and bake them in the oven at 400 degrees for 10 minutes ...Just stare at the pizza rolls....

When I was learning how to talk, I was taught both Portuguese and English at the same time. In elementary school, I started taking mandatory Spanish classes, which I did well in because of my knowledge of Portuguese. Then in high school, on top of taking Spanish, I also started taking French. Now, in college, already fluent in English and Portuguese, I'm in the process of becoming fluent in Spanish, and I have a standard high school level understanding of French.

I am without a doubt one of those people who refuses to start decorating for Christmas or listen to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, Thanksgiving has become an underrated holiday over the years. You barely see any Thanksgiving decorations in stores; it's like they skip right from Halloween to Christmas.

Here are some ideas as to what you can do to get the most out of your Thanksgiving break.
