Need a weekend getaway that’s not horribly far away? San Antonio is the spot for you this summer! I mean, seven hours can seem like a lot but, when you get there it is worth it! It is something different than just a regular beach trip. There are a ton of things to do in San Antonio. If you are ever in need of a great, fun, adventurous weekend take a trip to San Antonio. Here is a list of places to visit on your next adventure!
1. Rita’s on the River
Rita’s is directly on the riverwalk with indoor and outdoor seating. They have the best salsa on the planet. Fantastic Margaritas! The atmosphere is great the staff is so friendly. There are caricature artists and mariachi bands that walk around too! It's so much fun and definitely and must do!
2. Woodhouse Day Spa
Hands down the best. There is one in Hotel Contessa and The Westin both on the riverwalk. They are great with scheduling! (you can get in the day before) very clean and relaxing. The couple's Swedish massage is the way to go.
3. Hard Rock Café
Great food like all of the Hard Rock Cafés. There is tons of awesome memorabilia. In the San Antonio location, there is Ozzy Osbourne's black velvet jacket which was pretty cool to see. Also Eddie Van Halen’s Charvel Guitar. There is also a brick wall that Aerosmith painted on opening day! Overall a great place to go
4. SeaWorld
You can’t go to San Antonio without going to SeaWorld! They have the coolest shows. One of them is Hydropower 2.0 it is an extreme ski show! It is awesome! They have a show called Azul Beluga whales and pacific white-sided dolphins and acrobats and aerialists . pretty impressive show!
5. Rainforest Café
Indoor and outdoor seating. Great food. The staff is great especially Igor the European waiter. Their chicken Chimi Cha Cha’s are the bomb. Better than a southwestern egg roll!
6. Louis Tussaud’s Wax Works
This place has over 250 wax figures. Including Rocky (Sylvester Stalone) and the Harry Potter cast. This place is a must go.
7. Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Odditorium
Very entertaining great for all ages. Right as you walk in there is a transformer. Kids would love this. There are tons of Oddities. JFK’s car, the 1400 pound man, a Justin Beiber lite brite! It’s a pretty cool place to go. You definitely cannot miss the toothpick Eiffel Tower.
8. Guinness World Records Museum
Again, such a cool place for kids. They also have an exhibit for the world's largest man (1,400 pounds). They also have the world's shortest woman at two feet tall! Three stories and a ton of exhibits! The Joe DiMaggio exhibit is a must see as well.
