The NOW Generation: 9 Young Adults Who Inspire Us All

This day and age, teens feel the pressure to look and think in a way that conforms to the world. Being in the spotlight can put pressure on young adults, but there are some well-known young people that take their fame and use it for good. Here are a few words said by well-known young adults to help the year get off to a good start.

1. Selena Gomez

"I realize everybody wants what they don't have. But at the end of the day, what you have inside is much more beautiful than what's on the outside!"

Selena Gomez was a child actress who grew up into a strong young woman. She has her head on her shoulders and nothing can stop her.

2. Troye Sivan

"If I want to be remembered as anything in this life, it's just 'nice.' I feel being nice to others is the coolest thing anyone can be."

Troye Sivan got his start by making YouTube videos around the age of 13. He has gained quite a large number of fans/followers through his videos and his music career took off after he began posting videos while singing. Sivan is different and always wants to inspire his fans to be the best they can be.

3. Jennifer Lawrence

"Just be strong. Don’t be a follower. Always do the right thing. If you have a choice between the right thing or the wrong thing, always do the right thing. It’s a lot less stressful that way."

Jennifer Lawrence is known for her charming, funny attitude. Instead of putting on a face in her interviews, she's her real self. She is a role model for many young girls, including myself.

4. Zendaya

“Please remember the importance of that beautiful mind you have and all the limitless powers you hold.”

Zendaya is an artist who got her start on Disney Channel. She is unlike other stars in the fact that she isn't trying to rebel against her "Disney reputation." Instead, she likes to post influential messages on Twitter telling girls that they are beautiful in their own skin.

5. Cole LaBrant

"We can either go into this next semester angry and completely miss the opportunities God puts before us, or joyful and embrace all He has!"

Cole LaBrant got his star by posting 6-second videos on Vine under the name Dem_White_Boys with his two friends. Now that he has thousands of young fans following him on his social media accounts, he takes the time to post encouraging words of faith.

6. Cara Delevingne

"The energy you give off is the energy you receive. I really think that, so I'm always myself - jumping, dancing, singing around, trying to cheer everybody up."

Cara Delevingne is a model and an up and coming actress. Being a high fashion model is not all its cracked up to be. It's a dark world and people get sucked into it all the time. Not only does she have rocking eyebrows and a rocking personality, but she's silly when the time is right and serious when need be. She and Jennifer Lawrence show the world that it's okay to be you.

7. Niall Horan

"I think there's so much feeling among young girls where they feel like they have to be this perfect thing - and they don't. Perfect people don't exist. Sometimes people need to be told it."

Niall Horan is known to be the sweetest of the One Direction members. With his blonde hair and big smile, he makes young girls everywhere melt. He loves his fans and is a big inspiration to anyone who hears him.

8. Daisy Ridley

"Hope makes people good a lot of the time. You hope for a bright future, and resentment is outweighed."

Daisy Ridley just broke through by being one of Hollywood's biggest (and newest) stars of the year. She already has a great reputation in the spotlight. Her latest role in Star Wars has also inspired many young girls to be strong and courageous.

9. Justin Bieber

"I'm looking forward to influencing others in a positive way. My message is: you can do anything if you just put your mind to it."

Justin Beiber has had his ups and downs, but he doesn't blame it on anyone but himself. He has always adored his fans and he lets them know that he loves them. He is making a comeback and it's one to take notice of. He is open about his belief in God and looks up to Him, his mom, and his other adult mentors for strength.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads.
