1. She’s the ultimate example of self-love.

Samantha does what she wants, when she wants. Samantha knows how to make herself a priority in this world, a skill that many lack. The ability to choose to love yourself, and choose your happiness, even in situations where doing so is really difficult, is vital in this world. The best example of this is Samantha ending her relationship with Smith Jared to spend more time “finding herself” again. Samantha knows who she is and exactly how she wants the world to perceive her – and while she loved Smith, she needed choose herself over her boyfriend (something a lot of women understandably struggle to do).

2. She isn’t afraid to speak her mind.

Samantha is the ultimate example of a person with absolutely no filter. She says what she wants, and doesn’t ever apologize for it. While she may come off rather harsh sometimes, her heart is always in the right place. Samantha encourages us all to have the courage to express ourselves freely everyday, and to go through life never apologizing for speaking from the heart.

3. She gives the greatest advice.

Whether Samantha is trying to encourage a friend to take an opportunity, embrace their sexuality, or stop worrying about something she can recognize is menial, she is always looking out for her friends and providing a solid support system and quality advice to guide them. Samantha always seems to know what to say, usually in very few, aggressively put words – probably the best way to receive any information honestly. Samantha is the friend we all need in our lives, and the friend we should aspire to be to others.

4. She embraces her sexuality

In a world that is telling women everyday that they shouldn’t love themselves, that they should hate their bodies, and that they should be subservient to men in various aspects, it's great to see a leading lady so openly love herself, and the men she chooses to spend her time with. There is nothing shameful about Samantha loving herself, her body, and her sexuality. She embraces who she is in all aspects, and shouts it to the world. While her commentary is unorthodox and a little crass sometimes, it's hilarious, and a humbling reminder of how much greater the world would be if loving yourself and others openly wasn’t so stigmatized.

5. She is fearless.

As mentioned several times above, Samantha Jones lives her life completely fearlessly. Samantha does what she wants, when she wants and doesn’t take crap from anybody. I can only imagine a world where every single person had the courage to pursue their dreams, speak their minds, and live their lives exactly how they wanted to. Until that day comes, we will always have Samantha as a reminder of how great that life can be.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
