Junior Year. It is the year that everything starts to really matter. The only way to really describe the pain is through gifs:

1. You start out the year excited and feeling in charge because you finally have your college down pat.

2. You start classes and are happy because you have mostly your favorite professors in your major.

3. Then you realize they expect more work from you now and the classes are demanding.

4. You also realize you still have General Education classes to take.

5. Then there is the matter of how you are going to fit in your internship and study abroad.

6. You start to regret partying and drinking every weekend your last two years, or at least not thinking about your future.

7. It hits you that you only have two more years to really party hard, though, so you want to go out.

8. You and your friends start to wonder where everyone will be after your graduation.

9. People start getting engaged in your class and you feel like you are missing something.

10. You start to wonder if you should start studying for the LSAT/GRE/MCAT. You conclude the answer is yes, but you won't.

11.You start trying to join and become more involved, which leaves you tired all the time.

12. You start to really feel like you hate junior year, but then you remember that you at least still have one more year with your friends and to get your life together.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
