Friends University has an outstanding tradition called Sale Vale (pronounced sally valley.) To some, it's a well-kept secret and to others, it's a time filled with fellowship, relaxation, and fun.
Sale Vale started approximately eight years ago. Every Saturday, one person would be in charge of making a pancake feed for the students at Friends University. For two hours, anyone could come in, make a pancake, drink coffee, and relax, enjoying the morning with their peers.
It's a time to slow down and connect and I am so glad that I have been honored with the position of co-president this year with one of my good friends, Elyssa! So, for those of you who don't know about Sale Vale, I am going to give you a couple of reasons why you should start coming to the Village lobby on Saturday mornings!
1. Free pancakes, duh.
2. Enough coffee to keep you wired for weeks.
3. Sometimes there's bacon (who doesn't like bacon???)
4. You get to meet some really cool people.
5. You can try our super secret topping, Tapas Suerte (it's so good!)
6. Sometimes we make pancake art.
7. We have a million different toppings for every kind of pancake lover.
8. There are lots of funny stories to tell.
9. We play fun and upbeat music.
10. Make new friends at Friends (I will never stop saying this joke.)
11. There's a ping-pong table, hockey table, and a foosball table so you can play games with your friends.
12. You can catch up with people you don't normally see around campus.
13. You can relax while Elyssa and I make you breakfast.
14. You can make lifelong memories with the people at Friends University.
If this sounds super appealing to you, please stop by the Village lobby on Saturday mornings at ten! I would absolutely love to see you all there!
