Have you ever thought to yourself, "I'd like to move somewhere safe". Well, there is no such place. Anywhere you move to there will always be crime. But, there are places you can live that are more safe than others and I have the list for you right here. So if you are thinking that you want to keep your family safe, then read closely. Keep in mind that this list is subject to change over a years time.

9. Salem, Oregon

Salem is known to have the cleanest air in the U.S.A. Salem has the third lowest air pollution according the the EPA. There are also many attractions in Salem including, but not limited to, Enchanted Forest (a theme park), Eola Hills Wine Cellars, Farmer's Market, and Salem's Historic Grand Theatre. Salem's current population is 160,614.

8. Fremont, California

Fremont currently has one of the lowest vehicular accident rates of any city in America. As of the moment, Fremont is having a summer concert series, Fremont festival of the arts, and Fremont street eats. Fremont's current population is 100,000.

7. McAllen, Texas


Now, you might think that living close to the border would be a problem for this Texan town, but on the contrary. McAllen may be located in the RIo Grande Valley just north of Reynosa, Mexico but it has the lowest crime rate of any city in America. I know it is grim to think about, but McAllen only had two murders in the entire year of 2013. That's low compared to other major cities. You may want to keep that in mind next time you are looking to relocate. McAllen's current population is 136,639.

6. San Jose, California


San Jose is considered to be the safest city in California to live in today. While other cities like San Francisco and Oakland are the home to violent crimes and drug deaths, San Jose keeps it pretty clean. Not only is the city fairly safe, but there are also lots of things to do in this city. There are places to visit such as Japantown, Happy Hollow Park and Zoo, Winchester Mystery House, and countless shopping malls. The population totals at 998,537.

5. Alexandria, Virginia

Alexandria is located just miles from Washington, D.C. Many residents have no trouble getting around town because they use the subway which is part of the Washington Metro System. Less driving in Alexandria means less vehicular accidents which equals less deaths. Alexandria's population is 148,892.

4. Cary, North Carolina


Cary, North Carolina has less violent crimes taking place than any in North Carolina. Cary has much to offer like the Koka Booth Amphitheatre, the Carolina RailHawks soccer team, culture and art festivals, and Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve. Cary's population totals out to 151,088.

3. Bellevue, Washington

Bellevue has the 22nd lowest violent crime rate in America. That may seem unlikely being that their population is growing by the second, but somehow this city has been unaffected by the high crime rates of the larger cities. Bellevue's attractions include the Bellevue aquatic center, Adventura Aerial Adventure Park, Bellevue Botanical Garden, and Clyde Beach Park. The Bellevue populations is around 133,992.

2. Honolulu, Hawaii


It has been said that island living is safe living. Many residents stay safe because they do not feel the need to drive anywhere. 12 percent of the population take transportation to work. 11 percent of the population walk or take their bicycle. Not only is Honolulu a safer place to live than most, but it is also a dream place to plant your roots. The populations totals out to 374,658.

1. Sunnyvale, California


Finally, at number one, Sunnyvale, California. Sunnyvale is located in the Silicon Valley. Not only are vehicular accidents way below average, but the drug use in the city is the lowest than any other county in the country. Sunnyvale includes a Farmer's Market, the Lace Museum, and Las Palmas Park. Sunnyvale's population is 147,559.

When I was learning how to talk, I was taught both Portuguese and English at the same time. In elementary school, I started taking mandatory Spanish classes, which I did well in because of my knowledge of Portuguese. Then in high school, on top of taking Spanish, I also started taking French. Now, in college, already fluent in English and Portuguese, I'm in the process of becoming fluent in Spanish, and I have a standard high school level understanding of French.
