This statement is not true for all, but for the kids juggling leadership roles in demanding academic and campus organizations while also balancing a job and school, the thought of college seems like the most stressful time of our lives.
We work constantly, overseeing student organizations that resemble the hours of our parents’ fulltime jobs. And although we aren’t “required” to climb the ladder of academic command, we know that if we really want a future job in our major, we must have a kick-butt resume to land this summer’s internship.
Feel me yet? Well, now add the booming philanthropic and social events that Greek life holds along with chapter, sisterhood retreats and the simple duties of being a good member.
It can make even the best of us want to fall off our rocker. BUT it’s 100 percent worth it.
Whether your values include:
- Union hand in hand
- Together let us seek the heights
- To be womanly always, to be discouraged never
- Let us strive for that which is honorable, beautiful and highest
- The Faithful Sisters
- May the flame endure
- Live with Purpose
- One bond and singleness of heart
- Cultivate leadership potential
- One Heart, One Way
You know you have people holding you up and lifting you up along the way.
Greek life is the balance of family and memories that makes the workload bearable in the stressful times.
Yes, it adds events to your already overflowing schedule, but it’s in those moments that you will find the feelings of belonging and encouragement to press on and make the most of the four years you have left.
