I saw Deadpool 2 recently, and watching that movie got me interested in learning more about lead Ryan Reynolds, as I always found him hilarious but didn’t really know much about him. After reading and watching some things online, I fully admit and am proud to say that Ryan Reynolds is my man crush and here are seven reasons why:

1. He Can Sing Pretty Well!

Ryan sang a cover of the song “Tomorrow” from Annie on a Korean singing show called “King of Mask Singer,” and he actually has a pretty nice singing voice. I didn’t really expect much based on his speaking voice (no offense Ryan!), but I found myself pleasantly surprised.

2. He Uses Deadpool to Combat His Anxiety

I have pretty bad anxiety and a lot of the time I put myself down for it, but hearing influential and inspiring people speak about their own struggles with anxiety and other mental health issues helps push me to overcome it because they show me that I am not alone and can push through any obstacle. In particular, Ryan Reynolds has spoken about how he uses being in character as Deadpool to redirect these negative thoughts and emotions into something more lighthearted and positive.

3. He paid writers out of his own pocket so Deadpool could get made

Although most of us haven’t realized it until recently, it is clear now that Ryan Reynolds is the perfect Deadpool. And while his depiction of the character in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine may have turned some people away from the idea of a Deadpool movie, Ryan Reynolds knew that he could make a hilarious movie. Because of the confidence he had in himself, Ryan Reynolds paid the movie’s writers with his own money when Fox refused.

4. He's married to Blake Lively

Don’t you love a good couple? If I had to pick the best couples in Hollywood, I would definitely say Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are right up there with the bigs dogs, mainly because they are both super genuine and funny. However, the best part of their relationship is that they went on a double date together and weren’t each others’ date.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
