In honor of "The Nice Guys" opening this weekend, I thought it was only appropriate to share a few kind words about Ryan Gosling. This is strictly a Ryan Gosling appreciation post. We all know Gosling to be aesthetically pleasing to watch, which means we really love watching him on the big screen. Some will argue that he’s not all that great, but let’s be honest, his charisma makes it hard to not love him. I want to take it back and share a few of the greatest moments he’s graced us with:

1. "Mickey Mouse Club" Ryan

You probably don’t remember him on the Mickey Mouse Club, because I sure don’t. But look at him dance. I can’t help but gush over this video.

2. "Saturday Night Live" Ryan

Remember him on "SNL?" He absolutely killed it during his hosting gig on December 2015. But watching him play an elf was probably the best part of all the skits, other than watching him hold his laugher in to avoid breaking character.

3. "Jimmy Kimmel" appearance

How about his recent appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel?" I could not help but swoon. Remember I told you he had charisma? This appearance proved my point.

4. The Big Short

Although dark hair isn’t his strongest suit, his appearance in "The Big Short" as banker Jared Vennett was appreciated. I mean, who better to narrate a film?

5. Talking about his daughters

How about the time he gushed over his daughters and wife during an interview on "Good Morning America." When asked about the women to man ratio in his home he said, "It’s heaven. It’s like walking through a field of flowers every day. I live with angels.” I mean, could his answer be anymore perfect?

6. “Hey Girl” memes

Ryan Gosling finally cleared the air about his “Hey Girl” memes we have all seen circulate the internet. He admit he never even used those words and is unsure where it all started.

7. When he rescued a puppy

There was also that one time Gosling pulled over after he spotted a four-legged cutie in the middle of a busy road. Let’s just call him “Ryan, the dog rescuer.”

8. "The Notebook"

Let’s not forget the moment we all fell in love with him as Noah Calhoun, and dreamt one day he would build a home for the two of us.

9. Shirtless scenes

Or the time he had numerous shirtless scenes in "Crazy, Stupid, Love." And Emma Stone said what we were all thinking about his abs.

10. Ugly Mustache

Let’s admit, that mustache he was rocking during the period of filming "The Nice Guys" is probably everyone’s least favorite. RIP groovy mustache, please don’t come back. You are not missed.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Here's a personal archive of a few of the things I learned after going away for the first time.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
