For Those Of Us Who Are Way Too Excited About Christmas

Yes, we know it's a little early to be this excited but we don't care.

There comes a time, November 1st at midnight to be precise, where everything takes a dramatic turn from pumpkin to peppermint. Most people say that it's too early to start decking the halls, but I say bring it on. Why not make the happiest season of all last as long as we possibly can? Now don't get me wrong, I think having Christmas aisles in stores well before Halloween is a little ridiculous, but once October is over, there's no need to procrastinate.

October 31, 11:59 p.m.

November 1, 12:00 a.m.

That great feeling when Starbucks' red cups come back and everything is right in the world again. Who needs a diet when you can have peppermint mocha everything?

There's really nothing like the sheer excitement for the release of ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas schedule. The only disappointment comes with the realization that they never play "The Santa Clause 2," but they play the first and third. Don't they know the importance of movie marathons in sequential order?

Any attempt to eat healthy gets thrown out the window because there are so many cookies that are only available this time of year and this is an opportunity that can not be put to waste. Honestly though, who would pick a kale salad over snowman-shaped sugar cookies? That's just ridiculous.

Speaking of food, it's not like those of us who are excited for Christmas in early November don't like Thanksgiving, we just want maximum time for holiday cheer and Thanksgiving plays a big part in this. After all, they're both in the season of giving and who can object to maximum generosity?

When the first signs of weather cold enough to require a jacket come along and the scent of winter is finally in the air, nothing can stop the planning of any and all festive activities that absolutely need to happen. Sorry homework, you lose this time.

Some people act like November 1st isn't code for the most appropriate time to start blasting Christmas music. How could anyone resist the urge to sing along to "All I Want for Christmas is You?" Songs really don't get catchier than that.

Is it obvious that this post was written as a creative outlet for my Christmas spirit that society isn't quite ready for yet? The following gif is a near-perfect depiction of what my brain looks like for the next month and a half:

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

From sea to shining sea, the United States was uniquely positioned for an incredible Aurora Borealis display on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, going into Friday, Oct. 11.

It was the second time this year after an historic geomagnetic storm in May 2024. Those Northern Lights were visible in Europe and North America, just like this latest rendition.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Because no one ever really leaves.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
