An Ode To Iced Coffee

Without it, I'd be lost.

An Ode To Iced Coffee

Spring has finally arrived, which means that iced coffee season is here! Although, if you are a true iced coffee fanatic, all year is iced coffee season. Sure, if you are not entirely obsessed with it, you may think that people who drink iced coffee in the middle of winter are crazy. However, this is why gloves were invented. Now that the weather is getting warmer, iced coffee will be in the hands of everyone. Some things just taste better cold, and coffee is definitely one of those things. Iced coffee holds a very special place in my heart, as it does for many other individuals, and here's why:

Iced coffee is the most wonderful thing in the morning.

Any type of coffee is wonderful in the morning. Iced coffee, however, tops all. Whether you brew your own to pour over ice, or make a Starbucks trip on your way to school or work, nothing beats that first sip of chilled perfection.

Iced coffee makes the best mid-day pick me up.

When mid-afternoon rolls around, nothing is worse then feeling sluggish and tired. Especially when there are still hours of school or work left in the day. Iced coffee is the perfect treat that will wake you up, and instantly make you happier.

No need to wait for your coffee to cool down.

How many times have you burned your tongue on a scolding hot drink? Probably a lot.

It is always there for you.

Iced coffee will be there early in the morning, and late at night. It sees you at your worst, and your best, and still continues to be there for you. It supports you through rough mornings and all nighters. The best part is, no matter where you go, iced coffee will most likely be somewhere on the menu (thank God). It really is always by your side.

It is diverse.

From blonde to dark roast, to tall, grande, venti, or trenta, iced coffee is loved and appreciated in all colors, shapes, and sizes.

So many flavors.

Flavored iced coffee is a million times better iced. Dunkin Donuts cookie dough iced coffee is actually heaven sent down from above. Caramel, hazelnut, french vanilla, mocha, and coconut are all great too.

You look better with an iced coffee in hand.

... and feel better too. Can you say basic girl at her finest?

Iced coffee is better for you.

Have you ever heard of cold brew coffee? Cold brew coffee is better for your stomach since the acid levels are about a third of the levels in hot coffee.

It is never a bad idea.

You can make many mistakes in life. Drinking an iced coffee will never be one of them.

Iced coffee, I owe it all to you. Thank you for being one of my favorite things in life. Without you, I wouldn't get through the day, and life would be dismal. They say money can't buy happiness. However, it can buy iced coffee, which is pretty close.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
