How should we feel as Americans?

What To Think About The Russian Hacking

A third party came in to demand the recount of the election. The DNC agreed and stood behind the Green Party. Despite the fact that Hillary Clinton, at one point, stated clearly a recount would be unnecessary, she still stood behind the idea. However, President-Elect Donald Trump, is now gaining speed as votes are being recounted. Now, it has been confirmed that the Russians were part of the hacking of the presidential election.

What should we think about this as Americans?

We should feel violated. Regardless of who you voted for, a different country played a huge influence in the voting process. Another country influenced who the next Leader of the Free World would be. President Obama stood on the podium on December 16th, 2016 and stated that the suspicions of Russian hackings had been going on since March 2015. And yet, when we voted more than six months later, it was still a fear in the minds of those who were privy to classified information.

This election was one of the greatest upsets, and accomplishments, in American history. A political outsider was welcomed into White House. Whether the Russians intended for Trump or Clinton to take office, they failed to remain silent in the matter. They became exposed. Now, the American people have to realize how important this election was, that another country felt threatened by who our new leader is. Think of this election as the world's greatest upset as the underdog came for the win. However, these next four years will shape what the world and what America will become.

But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
