Things Experienced Throughout the Day, Explained by RuPaul's Drag Race

As a college student, I always have mixed emotions throughout the day. Whether we are just driving to and from school, sitting in class, getting involved in extracurricular activities or stressing over school work, our emotions can vary throughout the day. RuPaul's Drag Race is a reality show on Logo where drag queens compete in order to become America's Next Drag Superstar. The prize is usually a sickening supply of cosmetics and a cash prize of one hundred thousand dollars. Throughout the show, tensions are high and the queens are in a competitive setting. Of course, tons of emotions will be let out and I can relate to many. Here are things that I experience throughout the day explained by GIFs from RuPaul's Drag Race.

1. Stressing Out Over Exams, Schoolwork and Papers

I feel very attacked! I feel like this when there's so much to do in so little time.

2. Driving and Listening to My Music

The best part of my day is driving home, especially if I am not leaving the campus until late at night. Why? There are no cars on the road, there is no traffic, and the highway is empty. I would blast my music which is typically Adore Delano and Courtney Act music, and I would drive home. I would dance like Adore at every red light to feel the groove of my music. This was Adore Delano in the rap challenge in season 6. She excelled at this challenge, she felt the groove of the song "Oh No She Betta Don't" and rapped in perfect sync. As a result, she won that week's challenge.

3. When Someone is Giving Me an Attitude

Seriously? You seriously had to give me an attitude? I cannot stand when someone gives me an attitude, it is completely unnecessary and rude. If something doesn't go your way, do not give people an attitude. Explain why you didn't like what the person did in a civilized matter. It makes things better. When someone gives me a bad attitude, I feel like Bianca. Bianca is the season 6 winner of RuPaul's Drag Race and the funniest queen around. If you give me an attitude one more time, I am sending Bianca Del Rio to read you! Yes! Bianca is my all time favorite winner and she's extremely intelligent. She is not afraid to read someone. When someone gives me an attitude, I am like: "Really queen?"

4. When I Am Given a Compliment

Compliments always make my day. Whether it's a compliment about how I look, my work, or my personality, it always makes my day. One of Tatiana's most famous catchphrases is "Thank You" and I use it every day. I say thank you when someone holds open the door for me, does me a favor, or gives me a compliment. Compliments are our best medicine. Tatiana placed 4th on season 2 and came in 6th on All Stars 2. She is extremely fishy which means she looks very feminine and she has an amazing charm and personality. Be like Tatiana when you are given a compliment.

5. When I Am Dealing With Annoyances

I don't roll my eyes at people in public, but in my mind I do! When a student in my class tries to talk back at the professor and calls out constantly without being called on, I get annoyed. It is distracting me from learning! Plus, it is very annoying. Courtney Act was a runner up along with Adore Delano on season 6. Courtney is pure fish. Courtney reacted to what was going on around her in the same way I react when there are disturbances. I am going to Courtney's show in a couple of weeks and I am very excited because she is truly a triple threat. Courtney's drag name is based on the term "Caught In The Act!" Also that is how it sounds in an Australian accent too. Courtney Act is Caught In The Act, get it? I roll my eyes to myself constantly because some people are just not as smart as other people, let's just say that.

These are 5 of the many things I go through each and every day. Next week is Thanksgiving Break and I will finally not have to worry about stress. Oh yeah, I have papers due the day I get back. These situations are a twenty four hour, seven days a week, constant struggle. The best part is watching this show because it melts all my stress away. If you haven't watched RuPaul's Drag Race yet, I suggest that you do! It's the best show on television!

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
