Let's face it: most people want a body that they don't actually deserve. I always get this mentality in my head for just a second that maybe – just maybe I could become some sort of super-athletic human. But every single time, that's never the case. Here are some of the thoughts that are had when trying to run away from the Freshman 15.
1. New year: New me.
There is NO WAY you'll gain the Freshman 15. You will defy the odds.
2. I am about to look like a goddess.
So, you start off strong. Maybe you start jogging around the campus or you're at the gym on the treadmill. You have the mind over matter mentality and nothing can bring you down.
3. This isn't really that bad.
You push out all negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones. That's why they call it positive reinforcement.. right?
4. Wow. Nature is beautiful.
If you did choose to run outside, you can choose to focus on nature rather than the impending soreness that awaits you. Breathe in the beauty of your campus and breathe out the thoughts of quitting.
5. JK. Bug just flew into my mouth.
That was just gross.
6. OK, how long has it been?
You've successfully made a lap past the soccer team (hot) and the baseball field. That'll probably do it for today.
7. I've had to have been burning an insane amount of calories.
I can feel the fat melting away. Or maybe I am literally just melting from the heat.
8. [Insert name] = picture of athleticism.
Yea. I look good.
9. How has it only been seven minutes?
Okay. I could have sworn I've been out here for longer than that.
10. Do you think this amount of sweat could be considered a glisten?
*Trying to ignore sweat dripping from every part of my body*
11. Phew. I think I deserve a reward after that.
I ran for 15 minutes. I deserve a burger. You go girl.
12. I'll just try again tomorrow.
Maybe tomorrow will be better.
13. Or never again.
If I'm being 100% honest with myself.. I probably won't try to exercise again.
14. #fatandhappy.
At least for a while.
15. Sophomore Slump?
There's always next year... right?
