Ronda Rousey is an accomplished woman in many different arenas. She is a mixed martial artist and judoka. She has also done modeling and acting. Rousey is named the number one pound-for-pound female mixed martial artist over the globe. Rousey also earned an Olympic medal in Judo in the 2008 Bejiing olympics, and she is the first female to do that. She has proven herself to be a role model for women in areas such as women's rights and body image. Her defeats are unfathomable, and she shows women that it is okay to have a muscular body.

Rousey is a role model and inspiration to women struggling with body image. Rousey herself has struggled with body image issues and an eating disorder. Personally, she battled with anorexia. As a recovered anorexic, Rousey feels liberated that she can eat without guilt and use her brain space for something other than how she will eat and lose weight at the same time.

She has confidence in her body for what it is. Since she is a fighter, she is not a super skinny, tall model. However, that's now okay with her, and it is inspiration for everyone else. She shows women and girls that you can be muscular and attractive. This relates to women working out. She proves and preaches that muscles aren't something girls and women should be afraid of having.

In addition to this, Rousey also stands up for women's rights. As a fighter, sexism is something she has encountered. However, she doesn't let her bring her down, and she speaks that women should be independent, and do what they want no matter what people think. Rousey preaches that women should live and act for themselves, rather than for anyone else.

Rousey is a role model and inspiration for body image issues and women's rights. She is a celebrity that suffered from an eating disorder. Now, she is in recovery and she shows incredible body confidence. Importantly, she is a celebrity that does not share the media-portrayed "perfect" body. Her muscular build enables her to be an accomplished athlete, and do what she loves to do. This is inspiring for women who suffer from some body image issues. Rousey displays that it is perfectly fine not to possess this media-portrayed "perfect" body. Her muscular body has not stopped her from being a model and an actress in the media.

So not only is Rousey an incredible athlete in her own right, beating every one of her competitors, but she is incredible in the things she stands for as well. Women and girls everywhere can find a strong female role model in the woman Rousey has become.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
