I thought leaving home for the second time would be much easier than the first.
Wrong. Completely wrong.
It does not get any easier leaving the place where I've lived all 19 years of my life. It does not get easier leaving my family, friends, or dogs. It definitely does not get easier leaving those beautiful mountains. This place is all I've ever known. Living over 1000 miles away from home can be tough. I can't just call my best friend and tell her to come over for a sleepover. I can't just pick up my little cousin to go get ice cream. And I can't just hop in my car to go get Dutch Brothers coffee.
As I get ready to leave for school, I realize how much I really love this place. Sweet home Alabama is temporary, but Colorado is where my heart will always be happiest.
