The first time I saw Rotting Out live, I had never really listened to them before, but they were one of the supporting acts for a band that I loved. Within the first 30 seconds of them being in stage, I had fallen in love. The singer, Wally, brings so much energy to the stage and you can tell that he is the glue that holds the band together, at least in my opinion. Rotting out broke up in March of 2015, leaving a hole in my heart. Their raw talent, mixed with their high energy and emotion, leaves you always wanting more. Every time I have seen this band brings me deeper into the meaning behind the lyrics. I love that they are a hardcore band that stayed true to their backgrounds and what they love to do. Rotting Out was based out of San Pedro, California with a lineup of five people who all had such a huge contribution to the band. With most of the members being of Spanish hertigage, some of their songs are in Spanish, which add such a deep personal touch for me because it gives me a better glimpse into their everyday life, and how the struggles of growing up a minority, having to learn another language, and just feeling like you are different. The fans of this band absolutely loose their minds, the whole crowd usually turns into a sea of crowd surfers and mosh pits. I love the fact that the crowd and the band feeds off each other, making seeing them live a remarkable experience in itself! This band will always be one of my favorite things to jam, no matter what mood I am in! If you want a glimpse of how crazy their set gets, check out this video from the very last Rotting Out show!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
