'Cause where would I be without you?

A Thank You Letter To My Roommates

If you are reading this, you are probably thinking to yourself “Oh great another one of these sappy roommate articles.” But, almost anyone who lives in a dorm with their best friends can seriously relate to the craziness that goes on behind the doors of a college suite.

I have to admit I was very nervous coming into college and meeting new friends. I’m shy and tend to keep to myself. I am not exactly the person who warms up to someone right away. But, with all of you I was able to let my guard down and be myself. Living with all of you has truly made my sophomore year the best year of college so far. I could not imagine having another group of girls for roommates.

We drive each other nuts, make each other laugh, make each other smile, hold each other when we cry, get ready to go out together, borrow each other’s clothes, and sleep in each other’s beds. I mean, having seven closets is never a bad thing! I do not know what I would do would without you guys, especially when I am scrambling for an hour just to find an outfit because “I have nothing to wear.”

As the year sadly comes to a close and we all study for finals and get ready to go home, all I really want to say is thank you. Thank you for being there for me when I am going crazy, stressed out with school or just need someone to talk to. I've never had a group of friends who have made me feel this special in my life. I value each and every one of the friendships I have with you girls.

I hate being all sentimental about this sort of stuff, but this was the year I found myself being the happiest. I was surrounded by a group of friends who truly care about me. I love the weekends we spend together, even if they do end up being a shit show. Sipping on some wine and playing Cards Against Humanity while we make fun of people is probably one of my favorite things to do.

I can’t even begin to fully express to each of you how dearly I appreciate every single thing you guys do for me. When I came into college I was looking for friends who would always be there for me. I was looking for people to trust. I know I can fully do that with you guys.

Whether it is going to Toads, hockey games, sushi, Box, or house parties, I am always having the best time knowing I have friends who love me surrounding me. I should say it a lot more than I do, but I love each of you.

Thank you for the memories I know will last me a lifetime. I am so excited to see what adventures are coming our way in the future.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
