Four Roomies with Four Different Personalities

Another year is about to start at my university. I am so blessed to be living with my best friends in the best city ever. We have an adorable apartment in the heart of campus right next to our favorite pizza place. As these first few weeks have gone by, I have realized all of the advantages to having four beautiful, talented, different roommates.

1. Some are master make up artists

I have no idea how to contour or highlight or honestly even put my eyeliner on evenly. The great thing about living with other girls is that if I ever wanted to be transformed into a beautiful makeup goddess, my roommates are there.

2. You have the Mom of the house

The Mom of the house is the one who makes sure you take your vitamin in the morning. She folds the blankets on the couch and hangs your keys up for you. She goes to the store to get you medicine when you are sick and always holds your hair back when you've had a shot or two.

3. You also have the Dad of the house

The Dad is the one who knows how to build that dumb shelf you got from Target. She fixes anything broken in the house and knows how to do all the little handy things you need done in your life. She is also the protector. You know if you ever needed someone to defend you, she would be right there in a second.

4. The one who makes the kitchen smell like heaven

This roommate is usually the one who cooks everyone dinner for fun. I come home from class and our house is filled with the best smells. Whether its baking cookies or homemade chicken soup, its the best thing to come home to.

5. The one who has the best taste in music

Every house has their own DJ. This is the girl who plays music during parties and getting ready in the morning. She is also constantly singing the song that is stuck in her head which ends up infecting everyone else with the same song. Don't even get me started about the noise level when we are all signing Broadway tunes.

6. The one who always forgets something at home

We all know who it is (this may or may not be me). Lets just say I had to put a tracker in my wallet so that I can find it way quicker when we are all trying to leave the house and everyone is waiting on me because I cant find my keys or wallet. The Mom of the house really comes into play here when she hangs your keys up at night so you can easily find them in the morning before you head off to class.

7. The one with the best wardrobe

You know how some girls just have the best sense of style? You know how that's totally not you? Well its okay because you have full access to your roommates clothes and its totally fine if you don't have something to wear because they sure do. Also, don't even get me started on miracle of having the same shoe size as one of your roomies because that, is a true gift.

Living with girls is a crazy adventure. You learn, you love, you fight and make endless memories. The stories Ill be able tell in years to come will for sure bring loads of laughs to the table. Because how fun could it be if you were all exactly the same?

When I was learning how to talk, I was taught both Portuguese and English at the same time. In elementary school, I started taking mandatory Spanish classes, which I did well in because of my knowledge of Portuguese. Then in high school, on top of taking Spanish, I also started taking French. Now, in college, already fluent in English and Portuguese, I'm in the process of becoming fluent in Spanish, and I have a standard high school level understanding of French.

I am without a doubt one of those people who refuses to start decorating for Christmas or listen to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, Thanksgiving has become an underrated holiday over the years. You barely see any Thanksgiving decorations in stores; it's like they skip right from Halloween to Christmas.

Some universities only get two or three days off for Thanksgiving break. Or, if your university is like mine, you get the whole week off go go home. A whole week off is a long time. I'm not complaining, because I'd rather have a whole week off than three days, but there is a lot of down time. Here are some ideas as to what you can do to get the most out of your Thanksgiving break.

It's that time of year again- Thanksgiving Break is finally approaching. For college students everywhere, Thanksgiving is a time to relax and not really worry about homework (well, depending on what major you're in).
