College is a roller coaster ride, and there are times when you are hanging on for dear life. The most important thing you can do to stay sane is surround yourself with people who lift you up and make you a better person.
Moving into a house full of six girls my sophomore year was a very exciting, yet intimidating time in my life. I was about to be living with five of my best friends who were all very different from one another. Throughout the year I learned that best friends who become roommates, end up becoming family. I have never felt so much love and support in my life than I did my sophomore year of college.
Through all the mental breakdowns, drunken mistakes, and the inevitable "I hate boys" phases, my roommates are the ones there to witness it all and get me through it, even if it meant crying with me.
My favorite times will forever be waking up on Saturday mornings and laughing about all the adventures we barely remembered from the night before. The pranks we would play on each other in the middle of the night, because who goes to bed before 2AM anyways? The random days we would order pizza and immediately regret it 900 calories later. The mini fashion shows we had in our hallway to try and figure out what to wear. The nights we spent watching Netflix and making food instead of studying for a test we had the next morning. And the struggle of waking up Sunday mornings knowing it would take a group effort to clean the house.
Getting to live in a house with your best friends is a true blessing and I wouldn't trade it for anything. These are the days I will look back on and smile, because the memories will be countless and our friendship will be endless.
