It's the season of love, and that means there's chocolate in bulk at every grocery store, roses are lining the shelves, and romantic movies are always playing. Whether you're watching and cuddling on the couch with bae, or you're watching with your best Galentine's wearing PJs and eating too much junk food, romantic moments on screen always put everyone in the mood for Valentine's Day. Here are some of the best romantic moments on the screen to put you in the mood for the most romantic day of the year!
1. The wedding from "A Walk to Remember."
Landon and Jamie's relationship is so beautiful and sweet! They make each other better, and their wedding is the culmination of all that. The fact that Landon was willing to marry her even though she only had a year to live makes this moment so much better.
2. "You gonna break my heart, Covey?" from "To All the Boys I've Loved Before."
You knew this movie was going to make the list. Peter and Lara Jean's relationship may have been fake at first, but in the end, it's very very real. Peter being understanding of Lara Jean's nervousness is so sweet, and Lara Jean finally got her kiss on a (lacrosse) field. That's the perfect happy ending.
3. "The Time of my Life" from "Dirty Dancing."
Johnny and Baby are one of my favorite on-screen couples of all time. Their chemistry is so real and powerful, and that is so evident in this dance. They flow so well and look so happy together. And the lift at the end is probably the most iconic dance move of all time.
4. "One Hand, One Heart" from "West Side Story."
Tony and Maria are sharing their wedding vows in private because they can never be together because of the rivalry between the Sharks and the Jets. It's an intimate ceremony just between the two of them, and their wedding vows are so sincere and powerful. You'll swear their true love is real even though they had just met a few days before.
5. The summer montage from "La La Land."
I know, Mia and Sebastian don't end up together in the end (spoiler alert), but the romance they had together was very genuine and sweet. This honestly seems like the best way to spend the summer, running and dancing through California with the person you love.
6. "As you wish" from "The Princess Bride."
This movie taught us all that "As you wish" is really the best way to tell someone you love them. Their gradual love story is so pure and subtle that it almost sneaks up on you. How about the way he whispers to her? I get chills every single time.
7. The ballroom scene from "Beauty and the Beast."
The animation is perfect, the music is so gorgeous, and the simple beauty of two people falling in love is so sweet. This is truly one of the greatest and romantic moments in animation history.
8. The opening montage from "Up."
Yes, another Disney scene! Who knew you could tell a beautiful love story with literally no words? Carl and Ellie's life together can only be described in one word, "adventure", and what a wonderful adventure it was. Also, if you say you didn't cry at the end, you're lying to yourself.
9. "I'll give you the moon" from "It's a Wonderful Life."
This is the most romantic movie scene of all time. George's grand promises to give Mary the moon really show you how far he's willing to go for love, and the romantic tension is so real you could cut it with a knife. I've never wanted two fictional characters to kiss more than George and Mary.
