It’s here. Well, almost here at least. "Rogue One," the first live-action "Star Wars" movie that doesn’t 100% revolve around the main storyline that we’ve seen in all the previous saga films. The film seems to be doing a lot of work to distance itself from the all the other movies. One notable difference is that there will be no title crawl, which has been a staple in "Star Wars" films since 1977.

While the missing title crawl is an easily noticeable difference, it’s something that you won’t see until you’re actually in your seat. Some key differences that you have already seen, though, would be the characters themselves—they’re essentially all new (with the exception of Lord Vader, of course). So in order to help you prepare for this film, or if you just want to learn something new, I’ll introduce you to a few of the new key players appearing in "Rogue One."

Fair warning, I've tried to avoid anything that could be considered a spoiler for the new movie. Seems like an easy enough thing to do as the movie isn't out yet, but while looking up info, I was constantly met with spoiler warnings only to read on and see... No real spoiler.

1. Chirrut Îmwe.

Chirrut Îmwe, played by Donnie Yen, has possibly one of the coolest descriptions in the Star Wars universe -- a blind spiritual warrior-monk. While he is nothing like what we know as a Jedi, he seems to believe and trust in the Force as they do.

2. Saw Gerrera.

While Chirrut Îmwe has one of the coolest titles, Saw Gerrera, played by Forest Whitaker, has some of the coolest history. Unlike many other characters in "Rogue One," Saw has appeared in other, canon "Star Wars" stories before. He appeared in four episodes of the animated TV series, "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." I have seen every episode of "The Clone Wars" and had no idea the two characters were the same, which makes me really excited to see what he has in store during the film.

3. Edrio.

Edrio "Two Tubes," portrayed by Paul Kasey, is an alien species called Tognath. His home-world was conquered and occupied by the Empire, forcing him relocate as a refugee with his eggmate, Benthic. He sought revenge on the Empire for what they have done to his home-world. This led to him and Benthic to ally with Saw Gerrera and the Alliance.

4. Mon Mothma.

Mon Mothma, played by Genevieve O'Reilly, is a female politician, revolutionary leader, a former member of the Galactic Senate, member of the Imperial Senate, and leader of the Alliance. In other words, she’s a total badass. While getting snuffed in the 1977 movie (her name was not even said), she got her much deserved time in the limelight in "The Clone Wars" series. I hope she plays as large of part in "Rogue One" as she deserves.

5. Jyn Erso.

Jyn Erso, played by Felicity Jones, is set to be the main protagonist of the upcoming film. Originally not part of the the Alliance, we know from the trailers that she has at least teamed up with them for the duration of the movie. I'm really digging the casting of actors/actresses with accents that we've seen recently with "Episode VII" and "Rouge One."

6. Galen Erso.

Galen Erso, played by Mads Mikkelsen, is Jyn's father. He seems to be working with the Empire (it's unknown if this is by his own will or if he's being forced) on the Death Star project. In a trailer, we see him giving Jyn a necklace with a crystal on it... Kyber crystal, anyone?

7. K-2SO.

K-2SO (Kay-Tuesso), voiced by Alan Tudyk, is a KX-series Security Droid that was produced for use in the Galactic Empire. Somehow they crossed paths with Cassian Andor, who was able to reprogram them for use in the Alliance. The Empires logo still resides on their shoulder armor. Besides a use in the film as a fighter, we've already seen the sassy side to this droid that I hope only continues.

8. Director Krennic.

Orson Krennic, played by Ben Mendelsohn, is the Director of the Advanced Weapons Research division for the Empire, which is the division that oversaw the development and construction of the Death Star. He also oversees a division of specialized Stroomtroopers called Death Troopers. Talk about intimidating...

9. Cassian Andor.

Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna, is set to be another main protagonist. He serves as a captain in the Alliance, working closely with K-2SO and Bodhi Rook. We know that he was assigned by Mon Mothma to assist in stealing plans to the Death Star, and to keep an eye on Jyn Erso at the same time.

10. Baze Malbus

Baze Malbus, played by Wen Jiang, is a freelance assassin who aligns with the Alliance. It’s mentioned that he is a faithful friend and protector of his partner, Chirrut Îmwe. Awww... That's so sweet! I hope we get to see some awesome tag-team fighting going on with these two.

11. Bodhi Rook.

Bodhi Roo, played by Riz Ahmed, is a pilot for the Alliance. He also appears to be knowledgeable in mechanics and engineering, as seen in the trailers. I'd also venture to guess he is a chemistry professor based on his eye-ware.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
