Like anything, the margin of excitement towards a summer thunderstorm diminishes with each rainfall. Cozying up on the couch with Netflix and a fuzzy blanket isn’t as exciting the second or third time around. Living in the suburbs can certainly prove challenging on a day when the Weather Gods have failed you and outdoor activities are not an option. While the clouds cry over suburbia, you don't have to cry too. Contrary to popular belief, Rockland County and Northern Jersey offer a variety of indoor recreation that does not include your typical movie theater outing or indoor shopping mall.

You don’t need to travel to Disney to engage in a virtual world of interactive games. 6. What: Bazaar Star Beadery

The best part is that no reservations are needed, so this can be a very spontaneous option if you need something last minute. What’s better than wearable art? Exactly.
7. What: Westchester Broadway Theater

Entertainment and food. Need I say more? Take your significant other on a romantic and unique date, or get a great group sale discount with friends. Enjoy a matinee or evening performance and forget about the gloomy weather.
