Competitiveness.
Comparing.
The main 2 things that rob our belief in our beauty. I am talking to all the girls out there. I am going to cut to the chase.
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.
You aren't beautiful because of the super high end jeans you wear or the number of boys phone numbers you have. Your beauty isn't defined in posture or actions. Your beauty is defined by God.
In the world today, we are hit and struck with constant competitiveness about our appearance and beauty. As much as we preach in this world to 'love ourselves', and believe we are beautiful, deep down in the well of our heart, we still feel unsure.
I want to start talking about a beauty that is worth chasing after, a beauty that is found by being you, and nothing but you. A beauty that is found in- and because of the creator who created you.
Have you ever thought yourself as a master piece? A work of art? Perfectly crafted and perfectly formed? That is WHAT YOU ARE.
You are one of those super expensive art pieces that can only be viewed at popular art museums like the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Those paintings are SOO expensive. For example, the Mona Lisa in 2015 was roughly estimated to be worth around $780 million dollars! Now that is a precious master piece! Sure, there are 'cheap' copies of the Mona Lisa, but those are only copies, not the original.
You are NOT a copy and you are NOT a replica. You are an original! You are a precious master piece that is worth more than gold! Don't try to be a copy with comparison, or competitiveness, it only makes you worth less. Rock the price tag that you have, you are a daughter of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
For all you girls out there who are in the midst of letting competitiveness with other girls rule you, remember who you are. For all you girls out there who are in the midst of comparing bodies, boyfriends, smile, personality,- you name it, remember what you are worth!
Proverbs 3:15 says. " She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her"
That is how God sees you. As a master piece and a creation that He loves. Now, I am not saying to get all haughty and acted like you are better than anyone- NO! What I am saying is, that when we can walk out into our identity of being loved and cherished by our heavenly father- comparison starts to break and competitiveness is no more. When we can look through the lenses that we are loved, enough, and made perfect, we can be truly worth that $780 million dollars, rather than a copy we can get on Amazon.
My encouragement to all the girls I am talking to- (this can be applied to boys too...) that you are ENOUGH. Start being that original masterpiece, and not a copy- you are worth more that way!
