Road Tripping Isn't That Great And Here's Why

I hate being stuck in a car.

Are you thinking about road tripping?

I have never been a fan of road trips. My family and I would take a twenty-two-hour road trips to Nebraska every other year, and that is the main reason why I do not like them.

Just this past spring break, my boyfriend and I took a trip to Nashville in the car. I was actually excited about this road trip, but having said that, it did not turn out the way I wanted it to. What made it so awkward was probably the lack of communication my boyfriend and I had the whole time.

As an outgoing individual, without having talked for about 9 hours, I was on edge. When it came to the radio, I probably heard the same song about 3 times or more. I can handle listening to a song at least two times, but after three, it irritates me. Music is so limited, which can make the car trip boring after a while.

Seeing the same scenery also made the car ride tedious after a while. For me, it makes my ears watery, making me usually fall asleep. Sitting in the same position for hours can also be a pain.

I found that after going to Tennessee, my neck hurt the worse from having been in the same position for that long.

Overall, if I could choose between flying and driving, I would definitely fly and pay extra.

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
