We've all seen it, you know the crazy girlfriend type. The taking pictures with knives, "there's no leaving me" type of girl. Every time I come across a girl like this, I ask myself "When did crazy become cute?" When did it become a trend for girls to be clingy, insecure, and threatening in the name of love? When did it become attractive to be the "crazy type?" My timeline is filled with people perpetuating this stereotype, because it's glorified by people who think crazy equates to caring. Is this generation so far removed from the idea of love and what it means, that we don't know healthy ways of expressing it? It seems love now a days is gauged by what one can sacrifice at the expense of mental health and sanity. Being a crazy girlfriend is synonymous with being a "Ride or Die." And maybe I missed something, but I was under the impression that this was a sign of an unhealthy relationship. You shouldn't have to display crazy and insecure behavior in order to show that you care about someone.

What happens when it doesn't work out though? What are you left with other than a broken heart and insecure behavior you thought would keep them? Is this internalized behavior still cute, or are you just a scorned lover struggling to let go?

This behavior seems just harmless, and at most may lead to a keyed car or destroyed sneakers. But this moral epidemic is getting worse. It is far exceeding property damage and is now resulting in the loss of life. Tragedies such as the death of Kendra Childs who was supposedly murdered by the ex-girlfriend of her child's father after a brief Twitter argument. To add insult to injury, the ex boasted of her plans to end this young mother's life via Twitter:

As you can see people cosigned Kendra's murderer's sadistic tweets with hundreds of retweets and favorites! But these same people are probably tweeting their sympathy and condolences to her family. This "crazy chick" facade is far from cute and trendy, and normalizes this vile behavior. Some might think it's a stretch to say so, but if these girls actually put action behind half of the crazy things they tweeted, Twitter would be full of murderers! I say all that to say this, If you don't have the gall to be "crazy" over a man in real life, stop tweeting as if you do! Stop normalizing this crazy sadistic behavior! If you wouldn't condone their behavior in real life, don't support it via social media.

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.

11 Things We Learned From Brooke Davis

"What's more important? What we become or how we become it?"

Brooke Davis

"She was fiercely independent, Brooke Davis. Brilliant, and beautiful, and brave. In two years she had grown more than anyone I had ever known. Brooke Davis is going to change the world someday, and I'm not sure she even knows it." - Lucas Scott, An Unkindness of Ravens

Brooke Davis of the hit show One Tree Hill was the it girl - she had it all, or so we thought. She started out as a stuck-up, shallow, spoiled, head cheerleader who didn't have her life together. She slept around a lot and loved to party - sounds like your typical high school teenager right? Wrong. B. Davis had so much more to offer. Caring, loyal, and outspoken, she has taught us some valuable lessons throughout the 9 seasons that OTH was on the air:

We all have a person, and when that person makes some new friends, we tend to forget all the great things that can come out of it. Never forget how special they are to you and why you are best friends.
