R.I.P. Leo Deserves An Oscar

In every lifetime, we see how the powerful can rise so high only to fall so far. In that same vein, we also see a meme life-cycle time and time again on the Internet. One joke, however, has survived the meme-eat-meme world, refusing to fluctuate despite everyone's sanity. This meme stood strong for over two decades.

Which colloquial Internet joke are we talking about? "Leo deserves an Oscar," of course.

Ever since Leonardo DiCaprio with first nominated for Best Actor 22 years ago, fan girls and boys alike have been eagerly waiting to see this beautiful, versatile actor accept the prize he deserves.

Leo was nominated for Best Actor six times before finally claiming that rightful Oscar on Sunday, February 28, 2016. But up until then, from "The Aviator" to "Wolf of Wall Street," Leo had to pine...

Anticipate

Only to be let down once again by the Academy. Leaving him no choice but to harbor dangerous alternatives.

But now, as Leo goes home with that tiny golden man he has long for, ached for for so long, we must come to terms with the end of an era.

While some of the greats gradually fade into oblivion and placed on a pedestal of gratitude, "Leo deserves an Oscar" has dropped out of the Internet life cycle faster than someone on the wrong end of the Titanic when it split in half.

Through every The Dress, dabbing and "on fleek," "Leo deserves an Oscar" stood strong. But we can no longer mock the Academy and praise Leo's extremely talented body, I mean acting chops.

"Leo deserves an Oscar" is officially no longer funny. You cannot use them anymore or you will face ridicule.

In fact, as of right now they've been dead for almost 12 hours. Just by using them in this article I am officially less cool than everyone else because I am still using "Leo deserves an Oscar" memes but that's OK. I am willing to make this sacrifice in order to prevent anyone else from trying to use a "Leo deserving an Oscar" gif in another conversation from now until the end of time.

But that's life, and the sad truth of the matter is when you want something bad enough a lot of times you have to give up something that you care just as much about. So while I'm sure the entire country, nay, the world is celebrating Leo's Oscar win, it is time to to say goodbye, once and for all, to "Leo deserves an Oscar."

There, there Leo. After all this time you have your Oscar. You can sleep easy at night, cradling that little golden man in you arms night after night, knowing that no one will ever take that away from you. Hopefully.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
