Two weeks ago this Sunday, we lost one of the founders of A$AP Mob and icon. A$AP Yams recently passed away on January 18th, depriving the world of an amazing culture and music revolutionary from Harlem, New York.
Yams created A$AP in 2006 with the help of two other members, A$AP Bari and Illz. His bright ideas for the future of rap music were brought to life two years later when A$AP Rocky and Ferg joined the Mob. "Always Strive And Prosper" is a phrase close to Yams and the other members of A$AP Mob that has made A$AP Worldwide a household name.
As well as being A$AP Rocky's business partner and friend and part owner of A$AP Worldwide Yams is leaving a legacy of success in excess through his talent and carefree, positive outlook on life.
A$AP Rocky performed less than a week after Yams' passing at Sundance, stating "That performance -- that was just going to stop me from crying. I had to address it, because the whole time I was rapping and I wasn't into it, which is sad, but I just gotta keep it real. I can't front. It's even harder knowing that I gotta fly out in less than an hour just to go bury him. That's the part that eats at me." Rocky is involved in Men's Fashion Week in Paris and is continuing to be involved in all endeavors throughout this difficult time.
"I'm a happy spirit, man, and I feel like time heals," he said. "It's all about good people with good energy, and the universe keeps producing them to me. I'll be fine. God is good and I keep all hope and faith."
