Before the Kardashians dominated the airwaves, before the Housewives and their table-turning, glass-smashing soirees, there was a different queen bee of reality TV -- the one and only Tyra Banks. After 22 crazy seasons, "America's Next Top Model" is finally coming to an end, so we gather here today to honor the ten best and wackiest moments in ANTM history.
10. When Lluvy won the honor of having the worst photo in ANTM history
In her defense, she was dressed as a fish.
9. This epic hug fail
After Gina was eliminated in Cycle 20, Phil just wanted to comfort her... well, at least he tried.
8. When Jade told us the true meaning of the show
In one of the most iconic moments in ANTM history, Cycle 6 villain Jade was there spitting truth bombs for us when no one else was. Thanks, Jade.
7. When Dionne nicknamed herself Wholahay
In Cycle 8, Tyra challenged all of the contestants to come up with a nickname that could serve as their model name. While all of the other names made sense, Dionne decided to name herself Wholahay after seeing a news article about a girl with the same name who was sold off to an older man... yeah, we don't get it either. In the end, Tyra decided to nickname her Brown. Yikes...
6. That time when contestants were suppose to "embody" different ethnicities...
Aka wore blackface. Yeah, it was just as bad as it sounds.
5. Tyra pretends to faint
Never one to shy away from the dramatics, Tyra gave the girls an
important lesson in acting as she feigned passing out in the middle of
an intimate conversation with the girls. I'm not quite sure what the
lesson actually was, but a lot of the girls started crying, so, if
anything, it made for some good television.
4. Rebecca really faints.
Right in the middle of her critique. Don't worry, she was fine.
3. Every time Tyra taught us to "smize"
To "smize" means to smile with your eyes. Basically it's just Tyra opening her eyes a little wider and grinning slightly, but it's iconic nonetheless.
2. When Camille defended her walk.
Cycle 2's Camille had a clunky, unpolished strut, but that didn't stop her from defending it after an Italian designer asked her to change her gait. Luckily, her refusal gave us one of the most quoted lines in ANTM history.
1. BE QUIET, TIFFANY!
It was the lecture heard 'round the world.
