Rihanna vs. Beyonce (Yes, There Is A Competition)

She's changed hairstyles more often and more dramatically than most can count, and for that, I envy her.

Rihanna vs. Beyonce (Yes, There Is A Competition)

I'm preparing for hella backlash in writing this article, so here it goes...

These days "Queen B" isn't just viewed as one of our most beloved pop stars in and out of her music career, she's considered American royalty in such a likable manner that some would say blows the Kardashian Klan out of the water. I'm also not afraid to admit that Beyoncé is indeed amazing and wonderful and has great boobs, cause it's all true.  However, I think it's time to give it a rest with all the Beyoncé adoration.

Opinions on Beyoncé usually sound like this:

"I'll never understand how her ass moves the way it does."

BUT...and I may be the first white girl on the planet to ever consider this...I believe Rihanna holds one badass candle next to Beyoncé.  I tend to agree with the minority view:

"I think she's a little overrated. I just don't understand why she gets as much attention as she does. But I do like her..."

And here's why:

Music

First and foremost, considering I'm judging two extremely successful singers when I can barely hum the National Anthem, the music is the most important thing and ultimately the only thing we actually do have a right in which to judge them.  When thinking of Beyoncé, one usually is reminded of all the excessive (read: unnecessary) hype that goes along with her appeal, onstage and off.  That being said, I think Rihanna's music is ONE THOUSAND times better than B's.  'Man Down', 'Pon de Replay,' 'You Da One,' 'Unfaithful,' 'Breakin Dishes,' 'S&M,' 'Hatin On The Club,' 'Cockiness,' 'If It's Lovin That You Want,' 'What's My Name,' they are literally all such jams I can't even begin to express it enough.

I could name hundreds more Rihanna hits that you'll recognize and I could make you REALIZE that she's a cooler reigning Queen than Beyoncé ever could be but then I would get nostalgic and jealous and obsessive and in love with Rihanna even more so than I already am while writing this.

RiRi is timeless, really, with enough badass-ery and sophistication to charm anyone's pants off.  ALSO, producers know how talented Rihanna is. They have even offered her songs like "Pretty Hurts" and 'We Can't Stop' to her before giving them to Queen B and Miley.

Morals

Yeah, we get it, we remember, Rihanna dated Chris Brown; how could we forget, jeez.  Overlooking this small mistake, Rihanna has been quoted as the ultimate "Bad Girl" aka Bad Girl RiRi and has no shame in flaunting her badass habits.

It's hard to say that Rihanna has better "family values" than Beyoncé, but Rihanna has just had a few more mishaps in life than her counterpart.

But we'll move on.

Personal Life

Beyoncé's high profile family gets a lot of attention around the world, so there's not much to say here except the fact that Rihanna is from Barbados, and therefore, cooler than most people I know.  Her bod is pretty great too, I might add.

But still, how can you not adore that fam?

Persona

There's just something about Rihanna's island accent and the way she works it that makes me WANT TO BE HER.  She can rock any hairstyle and craft a crazy music video by just using a sexy car and/or sidekick.

She continues to rock it on the runway and says crazy shit that makes you reevaluate how you're living your life.  She can do literally ANYTHING and doesn't give a rat's ass whether she's accepted or criticized by the public and media.  She was also in the second "Bring It On" movie which was like, pretty cool of her.

^^^ Hey Rihanna!

And so, today and everyday I bow down to Rihanna.

I hope after reading this article if you are A) a Beyoncé worshipper, consider giving Bad Girl RiRi a chance and B) a Rihanna fan, to keep rockin on.

Christmas Tree
History.com

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
