As you read this article, I will be volunteering at a church camp in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. This camp has changed my life and taught me to have a true relationship with Christ. After I came home from Siloam last year, I was determined to not let that fire I had for God die. The thought of only having a real relationship with God a few weeks a year honestly terrified me, I had just had a couple spectacular weeks and felt so close to God and I could not imagine losing that. So I came home determined to cling to God with all I had and not let that fire for him die. The biggest aspect of keeping my relationship with him a priority has been reading the Bible daily. It keeps me so connected with him and allows him to move in my life continually. During one of my quiet times I came across Isaiah 42:6, which says: "I, the Lord, have called you for a righteous purpose, and I will hold you by your hand. I will keep you and appoint you to be a promise for the people and a light to the nations."
This verse completely rocks my world every time I look at it. Adequately explaining this verse feels like trying to explain to a blind person what a flower looks like. I hope I do it justice! I do not know about you, but I have made a few mistakes, but at the end of the day, that verse is still in the Bible. The Lord has called you to a righteous purpose! He knew every single mistake you would make before you were even born but he called you specifically for his righteous purpose. He does not just wait for us to figure out that He designed us for more than just eating, sleeping, and talking to people. He tells us that as clearly as possible in his word. Even after we have a rough day and make mistakes, we have a righteous purpose. He knows who we are and still trusts us with his righteous purpose. Each day, look for what righteous purpose he has given you, do not miss it!
Somehow this gets even more exciting! He is not just handing out some task and telling us to go do it. He literally says he will hold you by your hand. Just picture that. He is not going to make you do it alone. He is with you every step of the way. Nothing is going to change his mind about using you. He has placed you right where you are to be a light for his people. That may look differently each day, but one thing does remain the same each day. The Lord has called you for a righteous purpose, he will hold you by your hand, and nothing is changing his mind about using you for his purpose. He wants you to know that. Will you look for your righteous purpose today?
