Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation is easily the most spirited, intense, and loyal character on the show. Some of the things she says may sound absolutely ridiculous, but they have some truth and will definitely help you battle the next few weeks of finals.

1. “No matter what I do, literally nothing bad can happen to me.”

Even if you have eight hours to write two papers, study, and sleep before your next final, just remember that you are invincible. (Well at least your professors think you are with all the work they want you to do.)

2. “There’s nothing we can’t do if we work hard, never sleep, and shirk all other responsibilities in our lives.”

This quote pretty much sums up our habits during finals, so according to Leslie, we can accomplish anything.

3. “We have to remember what’s important in life: friends, waffles, and work. Or waffles, friends, work. But work has to come third.”

Even when everything seems like it’s going wrong, Leslie reminds us that we should always put waffles and friends first. In that order. Seriously, don’t forget to eat while studying for finals. Calories don’t count for the next two weeks.

4. “What I hear when I’m being yelled at is people caring really loudly at me.”

Studying for exams can make you and your friends get a bit touchy, so always remember that they care, even if they don’t sound like they are happy with you at the moment.

5. “I am big enough to admit I am often inspired by myself.”

Looking back at all the hard work you have done so far can be inspiring. A little self-confidence doesn’t hurt.

6. “You are a beautiful, talented, brilliant musk ox.”

Never forget.

7. “Hey Leslie, it’s Leslie. Hang in there. I love you. Bye.”

Don’t forget to leave yourself encouraging messages, because if someone has to get you through the next few weeks it might as well be you.

8. “I always keep emergency s’mores in my car.”

Always be prepared for a much needed study break, because you never know when someone has a portable fire pit that you can use. Or at least a snack that you can eat in the library without getting kicked out.

9. “Slowing down is not really my jam.”

You can sleep over break in just two short weeks, right?

10. “No I can’t, I can’t go home. I have to get ready for the Chamber of Secrets.”

Don’t forget what’s most important to you during finals, even if it doesn’t make sense to anyone else at the time because of your lack of sleep. You do you.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
