Find yourself browsing through Netflix a lot this summer, unsure what to watch? Here's your list of shows and movies to watch before the start of school.

1. Stranger Things

Cliché, I know. But honestly Stranger Things is a great show to get into. Each season is only 8 or 9 episodes and even if you don't like science fiction, I can promise you that you will get hooked.

2. The Office

I mean at this point if you haven't seen The Office yet, it's time you start. This show will hook you from the very beginning and will keep you laughing all summer.

3. New Girl

I feel like New Girl is such an underrated show that deserves so much more attention. I've seen this show a million times and still laugh. It's the perfect show to even just have on in the background while working.

4. Someone Great

Will this be the best movie you ever see, absolutely not. But honestly this movie is pretty funny and fun to watch for a nice girls night!

5. Friends

Even though I've never seen this show beginning to end, Friends is such a classic and something I encourage everyone to watch. Similar to New Girl, Friends only gets funnier with time and will honestly teach you so much about friendship and growing up.

6. Ibiza

Just like Someone Great, I can't say that this movie has the best plot. However, it's super funny and great to watch with your friends if you're looking for a good laugh.

7. Grey's Anatomy

This show is yet another classic. From episode 1 I can assure you that you will get hooked and before you know it, you'll find yourself on season 15.

8. When They See Us

This Netflix original is another movie that is super important to watch. It's a huge eye opener and will teach you so much about our history as well as what is currently happening in our society.

9. Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile

This is yet another amazing movie Netflix has created. Although it's a little eerie, this movie is important for everyone to watch, especially before going away from home, not to make anyone paranoid, but just aware of our surroundings and protecting our friends.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows.
