Revolutionary Suicide

I know that by now it has finally set in that Donald Trump is actually running for president of the United States. I want to run for president next time. If he can do it, then I’m sure I should be able to as well.

Seriously, are we actually surprised that Trump is the Republican nominee? Did we really start to believe that the Civil Rights Movement ended in 1968?

I am not surprised at all. The rise of the Black Lives Matter movement in 2012 should be a clue that racial tensions are still very high in this country.

People that feel that racial tensions aren't high are the ones that aren’t lending their ears to us. They’re the ones that say “color isn’t an issue for me.” Which is great if it is not an issue for you, but for the rest of the country, it’s an overbearing issue for us.

I can give you facts that’ll show you the number of colored men arrested versus the number of white men. I could also show you how white women have a higher income than colored women.

Statistics do not change emotion. Further Action Is Required.

I was asked recently if our country would ever fall into war again.

Yes, it will. If Hillary Clinton becomes the next president, then we better prepare ourselves for the angry Trump supporters. If Trump becomes president, then we better prepare ourselves for the angry citizens of this country that are not in favor of bigotry and any racist rhetoric.

I have friends on social media that use the hashtag #PoliticalRevolution. My question to them is, how far are you willing to go for this revolution?

There is a difference between and activist and a revolutionary. The activist is ‘actively’ involved in social campaigns, protests, sit-ins, rallying, and all other forms of public events behind a certain movement.

The revolutionary, though, is not an activist. The revolutionary is the one that devotes every single day to the cause she/he is passionate about, along with causes that will benefit society. A revolutionary is the one that will physically lose sleep, endanger their health, lose connection with family members, and even be exiled from their country just for the greater good of society.

All of the people feeling ‘burned’ by Bernie Sanders and his decision to endorse Hillary, the people that won’t vote because they do not believe in the ‘better evil’ option, or the people that are deciding to vote a Third-Party candidate, how far are you willing to go for this revolution?

Are you willing to give up your comfort for the greater good of society?

There is a thing called revolutionary suicide.

“...if blacks are going to die anyway, even kill themselves, they might as well die for a reason, for a cause, for something that might eventually lead to change in those social and political conditions that are literally killing them.”

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
