IMDB

The original Netflix series portraying life in the 70’s in the Bronx, NY. The series tells the story of a young group of kids trying to survive the hard times when the city of New York was on the brink of bankruptcy. The only thing that these kids have to survive these hard times is their art and music. “The Get Down” series has an intriguing plot and with a lot of musical drama, and also it is confirmed there is gonna be a second season for this set to start in 2017.

So is this series good for you to watch? Hell yeah, it is a masterpiece.

Why? Because this series offers a lot for you as the viewer to make you think and get inspired by the message they are sending — to never give up, to never back down and keep following your dreams, so get some wings and learn to fly. Another thing is if the name Baz Luhrmann sounds familiar, chances are you already know his work as he previously wrote and directed films like "The Great Gatsby" and "Moulin Rouge"!

I related this series to be more like “West Side Story,” but with fewer stereotypes and more empowerment of struggle in minorities. In this series, we are talking a full scale of drama in the streets of the Bronx when this country just got out from the war and was having a lot of social problems. The series are based on historical facts that happen in the Bronx that make the plot of this series a whole more exciting.

With a lot of culture references from the 70’s and the 80’s make the story getting you sucked in more and more. The customs of each character is perfect according to the line of fashion they had way back at that time. The production value is excellent; they make it according to the timeline in the story with graffiti’s, buildings in ruins and the atmosphere of a hot summer makes me feel like I’m there. An entire generation in the Bronx living in the worst conditions ever makes me feel how lucky I am. The developing of the characters through the series is amazing who they lead us to know them how they think, who character feel and what they dream are.

Let's also not forget this is set in New York City where genres like hip-hop, punk, and Disco were born. These were new ways to enjoy music or be more creative and make you raise your voice — It is just fantastic the way they portrayed art and music in the series.

Watching this series was awesome, and I love it. The next season is going to be even better, and the rhyming is going to fly high as possible. Would I recommend watching it? Yes. I’m grading this series an A for Awesomeness.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
