A Review of "Me and My Dick"

Today I have decided to watch the musical "Me and My Dick" by Team Starkid Productions. This is a musical from 2009 that can be watched on Youtube. Team Starkid has produced many original musicals and each of them is hilarious. I have been a big fan of both a Very Potter Musicals and Holy Musical Batman. All three of which I highly recommend watching because they are truly brilliant.

Me and My Dick is one of the most popular productions of Team Starkid and after watching it I can clearly see why. It is the story of Joey Richter and his best friend Dick. Dick would also happen to be his penis. Throughout the musical Joey is determined to lose his virginity to the prettiest girl in the school but Dick has other thoughts. Dick instead falls for Miss Cooter (Think about it) who belongs to Joey's friend Sally. Now I'm not going to say much more because I don't want to spoil the story. I will instead speak of all the reasons why this musical is great.

1. The music is awesome!

The songs are hilarious and extremely clever. The music and lyrics were written by A.J. Holmes, Carlos Valdes, and Darren Criss. It has a simple instrumentation but the vocals are truly great.

2. The Innuendos

Pictured above is a representation of two women's "Snatches". One of them is well worn and has seen better days while the other is still young and youthful. Each one of the "Girls" is unique and not one is the same which is extremely accurate in real life.

3. Costumes

Above is a picture of Dick and Joey's heart. And yes, each costume is just as funny as the two above. I don't need to say much more than that.

4. The Acting is Spot On

Everyone in this is extremely funny and not one actor or actress missed their mark. I truly don't know how they managed to keep straight faces during this show. My personal favorite character is Old Snatch (Pictured above). She's played by a large bearded man who has seen better days but still wants to help out Miss Cooter reunite with Dick.

5. Great Moral

Now, I do not promote underage sex, but that's a whole other topic. The moral of this play is not to only listen to your dick and not only your heart but instead think with both. By doing this it helps you open your eyes and see who you truly love.

Team Starkid is known for their odd and hilarious musicals and this one is fantastic. I highly recommend watching this musical if you are open minded, have an open sense of humor and are above the age of 16. I truly enjoyed this musical and it is just as good as the other Team Starkid performances.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
