"More skin, less makeup" is the slogan for the new skin care/makeup brand called Glossier created by Emily Weiss. Glossier depicts the image of simplicity and natural makeup unlike any other brand I have ever used. Emily Weiss, who is also the CEO for the website Into the Gloss, claims that the product is supposed to "let your personality shine through… [and give you] glowy, dewy skin."
I ordered Glossier's phase 2 because I had to try it myself before giving a positive or negative review of the brand, and I have been a believer ever since. If you know me, makeup is an art form to me and I have so much respect for everyone who wears it, does it and makes it. Makeup, like art, is supposed to represent and make the artist comfortable and depict your inner desires. I personally love moisturized, shiny and natural skin more than I enjoy a full-coverage face. However, Glossier can do both.
When I received the bundle from glossier I had extremely high expectations. I received a white minimalist box with their logo and, although I was only expecting to have their lipstick, concealer and boy brow inside, I also got a poster, a little book describing the products, and (to my personal excitement) a page filled with stickers Let's be honest, who doesn't like stickers?!
I ordered the lipstick in the shade "like" (which is a pink-ish natural color for my skin color), the concealer in the shade "dark" and the boybrow in the shade "black." Ordering these was one of the best decisions I have made in my makeup life. The lipstick, even if it is matte, moisturizes your lips and it is buildable, meaning the more you put on the more noticeable the color will be. The concealer is my favorite, super moisturizing and buildable. You can put it on twice and it will give you full coverage, however, if you have creases under your eyes (I do) you will have to put on a setting powder which doesn't bother me. And last but not least, the boybrow. The difference between this and other brow pencils is that this is like a mascara for your eyebrows, instead of making them look like you drew your eyebrows they look natural because the product tints the hairs individually, making them look fuller and giving them strength and attitude (I love some attitude in my eyebrows).
Natural makeup is for everybody. Why wouldn't you want your skin to look glowy and healthy? The glow and the natural oil in the skin is in. Actually, all makeup is in,and if it makes your skin healthier while using it, that's a plus!
