Birth control is a must in practicing safe sex, however most people only know of condoms and the pill. I have tried condobefore, but they are not super effective as they can fall of very easily. I have heard many stories about the pill and how you have to remember take it at the same time everyday and if not you can become pregnant.

I decided to go a different route and try Nexplanon, a birth control insert that goes in your arm. Now I have been on it for a year. I decided to get this type of birth because of all the benefits.

1. It is over 90% effective.

2. It lasts 4 years.

3. Once it comes out you can pregnant very easily.

Comparing this to the pill which

1. 91% effective

2. Take it everyday

3. Hard to get pregnant when you stop.

The Nexplanon insert to me just seemed like a better route. Sadly it does come with side effects. Some girls never get their periods using this, however I get my periods more often than usual. Some months I will have my period twice or just random bleeding.

It does suck because you never know when you will have it. But I would rather have my periods more knowing that there is a very little chance of me getting pregnant.

I have friends on the Nexplanon and they barely get their period. Everybody has different side effects, so yours could be very different from mine. Besides for my period I really have not experienced anything else.

Once I got it into my arm, a big bruise will occur, but it only last for a couple of days. And once your 4 years of the implant is finished, you can get it taken out and get a new one put in the same day.

I am in love with the implant. I feel like the Nexplanon implants is one of the best birth control options out there, but sadly it is just not known as well. Hopefully this gives you a new perspective on this type of birth control.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
