This week I am sharing all about reusable linens. At the start of this school year, I decided to give up plastic as much as I can. I gave up shopping bags, and have now given up paper towels, napkins, and Kleenexes. It is hard to realized just how much waste we produce until we take it away! One tip that I have for anyone who wants to save some money and waste- know what you are going to replace, and what you are going to replace it with before you give it up.
I now, don't even think about paper towels or napkins because I have a different, more practical option. The price in the begging might be a bit more than finding the cheapest brand of paper towels to buy. The good thing is about changing to reusable linens is that you don't have to keep buying! They last a very long time, which means fewer shopping trips as well as spending!
Why I choose to do this, was because I like the challenge. I also love the simplicity of it. It is so much more practical once you have made the switch, and no, I am not perfect in any ways. Last week somebody found napkins in my car and was confused, I honestly don't remember putting them there, but I didn't care. I used them anyways. I don't think it is a sin to buy napkins and Kleenexes, but I am really enjoying the benefits of being as sustainable as possible.
I am going to share with you guys what linens I use and keep on hand for everyday use! These are only for one person, and I do laundry every 2 weeks, so you can do the math on what would work best for your family!
I am going to share everything that I use everyday or week, minus my bedding and towels for showering. After I discrete each product and picture, I will tell you a total number that I keep on hand that lasts me 2 weeks if not more. If I missed anything, or you have questions, feel free to comment and ask me!
I will start with cleaning, because we all love to get cleaning out of the way right? For cleaning I use 2 different kinds of rags. The white and tan are more heavy duty, so I use those for more of the hard scrubbing jobs. The white and blue rags are a bit smaller, and softer. This i use to clean counters, mirrors, windows, you name it- these are my go to for cleaning.

This is a dish pad that I use for drying dishes. This is something I would recommend to any college kid! Super easy to wash, and stores super small! I only have one now, and if it gets dirty, I use a sack towel.
