On Returning To Odyssey
The Sweet Setup

The last few months have been very much a time of transition for me. Because of all of this, many different aspects of my life have been shuffled around in my list of priorities, especially as my time has been extremely limited. Unfortunately, Odyssey is one of the many things that has suffered because of it.

Right around the same time that this transitional period began for me, I had a sudden drop-off in Creators, as everyone in my community was having difficulty keeping up with everything they'd obligated themselves to. I wound up with no team here at UIndy except for myself, and that prevented me from wanting to write anything myself. While this is not the ideal situation, it is what I found myself left with.

Since then, I have wrestled with whether or not to attempt to rebuild this community or just let it go. I ultimately decided that I wanted to return to Odyssey and do my best to get my team back up and running again, in large part because I genuinely missed writing articles and working for and with my team. While I'm sure that it will take a decent amount of time to rebuild everything, especially to where things were before so many Creators were unable to continue.

I really do hope that I will be able to return the University of Indianapolis Odyssey team to what it once was, and I hope that there will be many people who will be interested in joining (or rejoining) the team to work with me. I know that this community can be great because it was before, and I have very high hopes that we can reach that point again.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
