A Story, Part 1

So today I woke up at 6:00 as usual to the sound of the rooster, damn that rooster at times. But whether I like it or not that thing is my alarm clock. I slowly got out of bed, so that I did not wake up my wife Katlyn of whom I have been married for 10 years.

Our bedroom is a master bedroom. We have a king size bed with camo sheets. We have a 50-inch television that sits at the end of the bed. The walls is an ocean blue because that is what Katlyn had picked out.

As I walked out of our bedroom I had peeked in our youngest son Xander's room. He is the youngest out of our two sons. He is very courageous, very outgoing, and is not afraid to take risks. His room is filled with a lot of my soccer or futból trophies and some of my jersey that I worn playing with Wolverhampton, Manchester City and for the U.S. during the World Cup and Olympics. He is definitely a mama's boy, but I do not mind that. I just love that feeling you get when you see your precious kid sleeping so peacefully.

I then went to my oldest son Sam's room. His room has to deal with the outdoors. He has his twenty-inch bass that he caught on the pond, when he five over his bed. He also has his 10 point buck that he shot when he was 9 when he and I went to West Virginia for a hunting trip. He over the past month has gotten into a aot of trouble at school and I have grounded him for that. Boy, I do not know what is wrong with him but he broke Xander's arm. I guess I have not spent a lot of time him, but that should not be the problem because I coach his soccer team. I really got to talk to him about it but he is a lot like me, tends to keep things to himself.

i went into the kitchen and got my coffee together and went outside and sat on my rocking chair that faced my hundred plus acres that I own. I like to come out when there is the morning dew and just chill, and imagine what my life would have been if I was not a famous soccer player or have a wife and kids.

It is now 3:30 and I am waiting for the kids and Katlyn to get home from school. I went to the barn and got the gator and went and got the mail. The sky was clear, the birds are singing peacefully, and the weather is calm. When I got back to the house I sat down at the kitchen table. Bills, a letter from my mother, and more bills. I froze dead in my tracks and stared at the letter from my mom because the only one who knew where i lived was my grandmother.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
