All you 90's kids be ready to get excited! There will be a continuation of the amazing "Lion King"! Disney has announced that they will now be giving us a continuation of the Pride Lands. In this epic special, we follow Simba and Nala’s second cub Kion. Here we find that Kion is doing just as expected by doing the unexpected. He’s now joining the Lion Guard, but like his father, is changing the game a little bit. He now plans to add other animals to the guard, which is a first! If "The Lion King" was a favorite of yours, then you are going to be super excited to see this new development by Disney. Here’s three reasons why I think this is so.
1. Old Voices Come Back
It has been reported that James Earl Jones, the original voice actor of Mufasa, and Ernie Sabella, the voice of Pumba, will be reclaiming their roles in the new arc! Two of the series’ favorite characters are back. It feels great to know that with all of these new characters we still get to feel young again.
2. New Faces
Yes, the old faces are coming back, but it is also good to know we get to see some new faces too. According to Disney Blog, Kion’s new friends include a honey badger, a cheetah, a hippo, and an egret—a nice, interesting group that seems as if it will have us all on our toes. Like father, like son, Kion seems to attract some of the most unusual animals as best friends for a lion cub.
3. New Music
Again Disney has stated that there will be awesome music to accompany the show. Yes, it may not be the musical genius of Elton John from the first film, but I think that Beau Black will still bring something new and fresh to the surface for the show. Let’s cross our fingers and see if Black can make his stamp on a classic.
I think that "The Lion Guard" is something new and fresh that many of us are excited to see and view. I think Kion will give us something both worthwhile and interesting to watch. Due to its nice compilation of both new and old characters, I think that it will make it enjoyable for each generation, even us 90s kids.
"The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar"premiers on Disney Channel on November 22, and "The Lion Guard" TV series will follow in early 2016.
