Theres much controversy nowadays over which studio is better, Marvel or DC? Who has the best comics? Who makes better movies? Personally, I like a little mixture of each, but still favoring the MCU. But more recently, the debate has been who has the better animations? Granted, Marvel and DC have both had great animated shows, but DC has really shown their strength in recent animated films, such as Justice League: Throne of Atlantis and Batman: Bad Blood. These amazing films seem to have no sign of stopping, especially within the last week, when the people behind these awesome productions announced a brand new film based on the tried and true, campy, 1960s TV show, "Batman."
This was shown through a short teaser released showing Batman and Robin about to be cooked in an oven on what appears to be a school lunch tray. The caped-crusader inevitably finds a fatal flaw in the nefarious plan and is able to rescue himself and the Boy-Wonder in the nick of time, all the while taking about the upcoming movie, in again, a very campy way.
Now, just the idea of an animated film based on such a legendary show would have anyone excited regardless, but the filmmakers decided to through an even bigger twist into the mix. The powers that be decided that not just anyone could voice such an iconic role. So they went out and brought back the original Dark Knight himself and his young ward, Adam West and Burt Ward. The original live action stars will be donning the masks one last time, alongside many original villains, even the Catwoman, voiced by Julie Newmar, the original Catwoman. Another thing that has me very happy is that they decided to stick with the original costumes, as can be seen in the trailer.,
This very much anticipated film will out in stores on October 11, and I personally am very excited, being a fan of the show and all. Now I know I had said earlier that I am kinda partial to Marvel and its amazing line-up, but when it comes to animated films, DC just gave it another whack on the jaw.
